Loves sweet surrender

This story was interesting. I haven’t listened to one like it nor from this author or narrator. After the first chapter or so I was able to get into the book more and really ended up enjoying the listen!

Great audiobook

This book was full of action and danger as a pride of cat shifters try to wade through the after math of a feral virus the hunters are experimenting with. Vic is a fierce human woman that’s not afraid to stand up to anyone including shifters. Gideon is a cat shifter that didn’t think he was mate materiel because of a dark past. But fate has different plans for these two.
I like how the narrator brought out each person’s character aa I listened. I felt like I was there in the story itself.

Even the FANTASTIC NARRATOR couldn’t save this

Despite this book having an amazing narrator it pretty much stank. I felt like I was playing catch up plot wise the entire time I was listening to it. It seemed rather obvious to me that there’s a serialized series plot arc to the books in this series so reading/listening to them in order is a MUST. I’ve actually never come across a book like this before. Usually when an author aims for a plot spanning multiple books in a series there’s at least a little bit of an info dump given about the previous books. Not so with this book. On top of that the plot development within this story was basically nil. I won’t be bothering with a Lacey Thorn book again. Not worth the waste of time.

On the flip side Nicholas Cain’s narration was fantastic. I’ll happily listen again and again to him. His skill was wasted on this book. His pace is great albeit a touch fast but he does voices for his characters which is what a true vocal artist does. I wasn’t the biggest fan of his female voices but there’s only so much a male can change his timber. Not only did the significant characters have their own distinct voices to differentiate them but Cain also does regional accents. That’s the type of narration that gains my admiration.

Good story & narration

I love the Awakening Pride series by author Lacey Thorn and A Jaguar’s Touch was another good story. I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook and Nicholas Cain is a new narrator for me. I thought he did a really good job bringing Gideon and Vic’s story to life with his performance and I liked his “voice”.

Author and narrator surprise!

My first Lacey Thorn book and first Nicholas Cain narration and I loved both! Love me a good shifter rom and this one is fast paced and characters interesting. Gideon and Vic are both loners with troubled pasts and love-shy. Which makes it all the more interesting when the shifter falls for the human. I felt a tiny bit lost in the first chapter feeling there’s a backstory i missed but i was able to catch up quickly. Its fun and spicy and i loved the HEA. Nicholas Cain’s narration was spot on. Will be on the lookout for more Lacey Thorn books!

Strong M/F characters

I love this whole series. Gideon and Vic make great mates. They're both strong and worthy of each other. They compliment each other very well.
The narration was well done. Excited to listen to more of this series.

Disappointing

If you want a book filled with sex and a so-so plot, this book is for you. I usually love shifter romances, just not this one. The narrator did a fantastic job, but even they couldn't save this one, in my opinion. I received this book for free upon my request, and I'm sorry I did. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here.

Great Narrator

This was a new to me author and narrator. I just couldn't get into the story as the characters aren't well-developed enough for me to be invested in what happens to them, Vic especially. There were too many characters to keep track of which wouldn't normally be an issue, but again, I had a hard time connecting with them so it was hard to remember who was who. The narrator was fantastic though and so many characters have him an opportunity to show what he could do. He did a great job giving each character a voice and personality thrift his performance and I'll be looking at what other titles he's done.
