For years, Edna Miller has found herself drawn to Emery Hoschtettler with an attraction she can explain no better than she can put a stop to it. Other suitors come and go, but none make her feel the way she feels around Emery - that incredible floating feeling, as if she was walking on air, mixed with a painful desperation to be ever nearer to him. Despite the fact that Emery seldom seems to pay her much attention, she decides it would be unfair to marry anyone else when her heart longs only for him. Fifteen years. That’s how long it’s been since Hannah McLean set foot in the Amish community where she was raised. Through it all, her heart has never forgotten Pontotoc - or Aaron Zook, her first love.
Now widowed and left with little more than her hurting teenager and her prayers, she returns home, even knowing she and her son may be turned away. When Aaron learns Hannah has returned, he nearly falls to his knees. He’s a strong man, but lately the care of his three motherless children and family land have been more than he can handle. Now providence has delivered the first woman he loved and, with her, the rush of feelings they once shared.
But will his simple, removed way of life leave Hannah longing for something more, or can they begin anew, finding a new way forward together?

This is a great book it gives you hope
I would recommend this story to all ages. I enjoyed hearing Hannah’s story as she traveled home to Ponotoc Mississippi to her Amish village after living in the English world for so many years. I wept with her along her journey after her husband‘s death as she excepted responsibility for her mistakes. I rejoiced with her as the wrinkles in her life were smoothed out along her journey. We all have made mistakes in our life that we have to get worked out so this is a story well worth reading.
