Craig Robinson, the brother of Michelle Obama, has enjoyed tremendous success in both the business and basketball arenas. He has been a vice president with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and a managing director and partner at Loop Capital Markets. This book will challenge me to be a better father, and to anchor my values even deeper. Great insights on many fronts, and an inspiring challenge to become more.

Great book on character and values

Starts off a little cliche but quickly grows on you. Not bad but not earth shattering. Cute.

Craig Robinson's autobiography is wonderful. His description of his family interaction while growing up makes me envious. How his parents could have had such insight and innate goodness and wisdom without education is remarkable.
The narrator was terrific and the book moved along nicely. I found myself getting a little bit teary now and then and I cheered for his various basketball teams when the going got tough. His description of President Obama and his sister Michelle, both as people and as parents, made me even happier that I knocked on hundreds of doors in my home town on his behalf. Well done!

If I were a mom of a potential Pac-10 basketball player - and had influence - I'd send my kid to play for the Beavers. Craig Robinson is a great coach and his book explains that he comes by coaching somewhat naturally via his wonderful parents. I am bit biased, as I live in Corvallis, but this guy is the real deal.

While, there is a a great deal about his sister and brother-in-law in the book, the book's interest comes not from his relationship with the first family but from his love for his whole family. The inspiration comes from his success attributed to his family and his own great dedication, determination and discipline along with a love for the game.

I can appreciate the analogy of how character translates not only on the basketball floor but also in life and the choices you make in life drives how you maintain that character through your morals, values, ethics reflected in your daily life.

Excellent story on building character.
