Just as good as the last one in this series

Any additional comments?

As the last book left off with Pearla finding out at the altar that her soon be husbands wife has come back from the dead. Needless to say the wedding did not go through leaving Pearla heartbroken and wanting to get out of town as fast as she can. She isn’t thinking to clearly and takes up the first man who offered a fast getting away on his ship. Everything is going well until they lock her in a cabin and she can’t get out. To her surprises someone else is thrown in the cabin with her, a man, what is she to do? It seems there are evil plans in store for her but of what kind and what can she do?

Ms. Hale’s narration is wonderful she has a lovely accent that really pulls you in. Her male and female voices are lovely, you always know who is talking and just what they are feeling. There are no repeats of words, no background noise or any volume changes. She gives a very thrilling narration right down to the fear and a heart that has been broken before. She puts a lot of emotion into the characters you have no trouble seeing the scenes in your mind as it holds you attention. I thought her performance was wonderful. She really brings the story to life. I haven’t listened to any of her other work and do look forward to listening to more.

The author brings and exciting story to life just as exciting as the story before. You do get to visit with past characters and see how they are doing. I enjoyed how this played out danger, excitement, love and fear with a little humor that makes you laugh. I think with what Pearla knew of Damian she should have known not to believe what was said. I loved the baiting between these two, their fights were very interesting. The ending was exciting I never saw the ex doing what she did. I was glad to see the outcome of the ones that took Pearla they sure did have some nasty plans for these two. I really felt so sad for Pearla in the last book and even sadder for her in this one. Damian is such a play boy it was nice to see him on his knees. He did change his mind really fast, one minute he doesn’t want a wife and the next he is all for it. I thought this was a very exciting story that really held your attention from the first page until the last.

Romance, Adventure, and a second chance!

This is the first book by Dawn Bower that I have listened to. What a book! It is well a well written historical romance that brings so much to the imagination. I thought the narrator did a fantastic job with the various characters. I enjoyed the story with the unexpected twists. This book is part of a series and yet a standalone listen. I will definitely look for more books by this author and narrator. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I leave it up to the professionals to write the synopsis as they are much more eloquent. I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Another Great Addition to the Series

This was another great addition to the series. Dawn Brower has worked her magic with these endearing characters. Kristina Hale brought the story to life and made this as fun to listen to as it was to read.

I received a copy of this audiobook and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Potentially Good Story Ruined by Poor Narrator

This has the potential of being a good audiobook, but unfortunately, the interesting story of a romance between the heroine and the brother of the man who jilted her was ruined for me by the poor narrator. Her voice was like nails on a chalkboard to me, sounding like she spent all her time in smoky bars. Not quite appropriate for an innocent miss!

Damien & Pearla

Damian, Conte Leone and Pearla Montgomery's story is part of the A Marsden Romance series. The story is well written with drama, suspense, intrigue, mystery, danger, kidnapping, force marriage, lies, and romance. There is a good storyline with a story that flows smoothly across the pages. The story is well written and was well worth reading to read and listening to. I enjoyed listening to Kristina Hale bring this story to life.

Love Wins

Pearla wedding and future fell apart at the altar when the groom’s “dead” wife shows up. Humiliated, she decides to leave England. When she comes to the ship she is to sail on, strange and frightening things happen. She is locked in her cabin, and a man who has been beaten is thrown in with her. Neither of them knows what’s going on. After sailing for a few weeks, Pearla and Daniel are taken from the cabin to see the captain, who marries them immediately. Before they can settle themselves, Daniel disappears. Pearla doesn’t see him again until they are both in London. What will happen now? What an exciting story. There is intrigue, mystery, danger, kidnapping, force marriage, lies, and doubt. The characters are engaging. Some are quite likable and some a bit shady. Daniel and Pearla are, or would be, great for each other. Their biggest problem are exasperated by their refusal to share their experiences and feelings. The chemistry between them is strong, but the romance doesn’t happen easily or quickly. The story is moves quickly and is unpredictable, but love wins and there is a happy ending. Narration by Kristina Hale is quite enjoyable.

Gemma won't open her heart to him, until he loved her.

This was a good ez listen.

To tell the truth this is the first Historical fiction seriers that I have listened too. AND my first time listening to Author DAWN BROWER.

Not sure if its really for me, but I am going to listen to the rest of the series.

If you like Historical fiction you'll probably like it. I just have to listen to more to find out if its really for me.

At speed 1.60x the vocal artist did a really good job.
