Publisher's Summary

The adventure concludes with the triumphant finale in the Riftwar Saga. Raymond E. Feist is an internationally best-selling author.

The battle may be over, but war is coming… The Kingdom forces may have won the first conflict but the enemy has a strong grip on Midkemia and invasion now seems inevitable.

Arutha travels north to confront the Dark Elves, but without help, Pug knows that Arutha's forces face slaughter. With Tomas he must scour the world - and beyond - to find the one person with enough power to give them a chance. If they fail, Midkemia will be the first of many worlds to fall to a madman with the power to dominate death itself…

A Darkness at Sethanon concludes Raymond E. Feist's bestselling Riftwar Saga.

Excellent ending to an even great series

Half way into book 4 I wasn't sure how this was going to end, but Feist has an amazing way of rounding things up. Masterful story telling and equally well read by Peter Joyce

Solid story in written form as well as audio form

The strong performance by Peter Joyce drives this fantastic crossover. I read this series in written form many years ago and I find that they are holding their own in audio format. This is a solid addition to the series

He writes about love in the same Way a potato would write about the irish

So i like this book. But i admit that i almost returend it. And Only did not because how much i liked the ending. Now i feel that he could write romance better, Cause the Way he does it now is Kinda short, to the point, and mostly bitter. So just like how a potato would write about the irish.

Beautifully descriptive

An amazing escape into a wonderful world. The narrator compliments the author brilliantly, allowing you to be transported into a fantastically designed fantasy. The series has gripped me from the beginning, and these audio novels add so much more. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy, and a great series for anyone who wants to give fantasy a go.

Pronunciation.<br />

If Peter Joyce learned how to pronounce the names properly the story would sound a lot better.

Cliché but well written.

I'm a bit torn in regards to this trilogy, one I didn't read when I was younger unlike many if the other classics.

The characters are well done if perhaps a bit stereotype, and the underlying story is excellent. But it feels like the author had the notion that everything had to be epic, which without writing any spoilers makes Tomas and Pugs part of the story a bit silly, with one amazing breathtaking mindbending and oh so wondrous experience following the last. The pacing actually feels too quick in regards to what they're experiencing, and I would have preferred if the superlatives were taken down and some more actually coherency and logic was introduced instead.

The Jimmy and Arutha part of the story is much better, with great pacing, a believable story and great narrative. Not to mention more interesting characters.

Worth the listen? Definitely. Just prepare to cringe a couple of times. The narrator talks in slow motion, I had the speed at 1.5 and that felt much better.

Exciting Themes, Dull Execution

This is an adequate conclusion to the trilogy and definitely a step up from silverthorn.

DaS manages to recapture some of the magic in magician and the quest undertaken by pug and Tomas visits some really exciting places and has great magical world building.

Unfortunately the rest of the plot just appears to lack stakes, although big things happen no characters ever really seem in danger and it massively takes away from the drama of the final act.

A fun read, but not an instant classic like magician.

Excellent end to a fantastic trilogy

Absolutely loved this book. There were a few mispronounced words or inconsistently pronounced words but other than that the performance was incredible as well with a great variety of voices for the characters.

loved the book and the reading except for one bit

without spoiling I need to say this.
at one of the most important parts of the book, the audiobook reader seems to think that "he had a musical voice" means that he literally sings his words like a f***ing priest. it completely ruins a very intense moment. other than that, he did a good job. apart from a few mispronunciations here and there.

A dark and mysterious tale concluded.

A thrilling conclusion to Feist's Silverthorne and Magician. A very enjoyable listen as the characters, new and old, gain more maturity and thus so does the tale. Will be recommending to friends.

An end to a wonderful series...

The Riftwar Saga remains a classic that still holds up well today. Wonderful story telling and performed superbly by someone whose loves what they do. I have read this series many times but having it performed added a new perspective to it.

Absolutely brilliant!

The story has everything you need in an adventure. Love, Loss, Romance, Battles. The character development is something to marvel at and I am hooked. I can't wait to listen on as the adventure continues.
