Publisher's summary

Adam and Luc used to be close. At least they were before Luc distanced himself from Adam at 14, then eventually left home. Adam never got over the sting of betrayal, or the loss of his one-time best friend.

When Luc is invited back home to help get his parents' failing dance school back on track, Adam isn't sure he can cope with having his stepbrother back in his life. Especially when he discovers Luc's decade-old secret.

Luc left home because he was sure no one would understand that he had fallen in love with his stepbrother. Convinced that the years of distance he has put between them will have erased his desire, Luc doesn't hesitate to return home to help the business that means everything to his parents.

Confronted by Adam once more, Luc's past feelings reawaken. But will revealing his true feelings to Adam heal the rift between them, or drive them even further apart?

This novel contains explicit language and sex scenes between stepbrothers.

Emotional and perfect...

A Dance For Two by Colette Davison is the story of two step brothers who fall in love.

Growing up, Adam and Luc were close... until one day Luc started to back off and left Adam wondering what happened to take his step brother from best friend to bully. It's a betrayal that still stings years later when Luc comes back home to help their parents out at their family dance studio.

Eventually Adam finds out the reason why Adam had to back away and eventually leave - he is in love with him, always has been and still am. Will the truth set them free and heal their scars or will it tear their family apart forever?

This story is very interesting and entertaining. Heartbreaking, emotional, passionate and a good dose of angst, the story will have you engrossed, feeling raw emotions. The characters of Luc and Adam are perfect together. Their journey together to mend their past hurts and find a Happily Ever After captivates and leaves you satisfied.

For the Audiobook- the story is narrated by Neil McFarlane and is an outstanding performance. A smooth and easy to listen to voice that brings the characters to life.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Taboo and so so good

Adam and Luc were always close, until Luc discovered his feelings towards his stepbrother weren't so brotherly any more. When Luc got the chance he moved away and tried to forget about his feelings. But as luck would have it he returned home to help his family's struggling dance school.

As Luc and Adam reconnects and Adam gets over his hurt of Luc's leaving, they find that their feelings are mutual.

Nobody ever said you fall in love with who society thinks is right.

The subject of the story was difficult and I thought that the author handled it beautifully. I really enjoyed it. And the narrator was brilliant!

as good as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B

Held my breath through the entire book!!

There is every kind of tension and angst in this book that one could ever imagine. Family tension, as Luc returns to try to save the family dancing school, awakening yet another kind of tension within his step-brother, Adam. The tension of striving to save a business this family loves while keeping their artistic vision intact. And finally, the previously mentioned sexual tension between the two step-brothers.

I was mesmerized as I listened to Luc and Adam strive to control their uncontrollable feelings for each other. Each chapter peeled away yet another layer of resistance within each man, revealing the truth that neither of them wanted, and yet could not forget or ignore.

The narrator is amazingly good, voicing the anxiety felt by both Luc and Adam as they struggle to understand and cope with their feelings for each other. Adam, the most fearful of the two stole my heart. I understood his fear and reluctance, and yet, though this narrator’s amazing vocal skills, I could also feel the heat deep within and the longing to bring this, the one great passion of his life, to fulfillment.

This is a captivating story, brilliantly written and beautifully narrated. A story of hope and love. But ‘A Dace for Two’ is also a story of passion and truth between two extraordinary men. I loved it!

Excellent narration

I loved the storyline and narration but "brother" was mentioned every other sentence and that is the only fault I have.

Narration definitely made the story better

The audible version of this book was nice. The narrator did a good job of portraying the differences in the characters. Projecting their pain and fear nicely.

Luc has been in love with Adam since they were teenagers. Leaving his home to get away from the feelings he had for his step brother. Adam was devastated when his brother pulled away from him and left him and his parents.

Years later Luc returns to help the family try and save their dance studio. Still in love with Adam and fighting the feelings until he can’t anymore. When he finally tells Adam the truth both of their worlds are changed.

So much angst in this book. Reiterating over and over that they are brothers did get a little annoying. It took a while for me enjoy the characters. It seemed as if Luc pushed his feeling on to Adam, expecting him to feel the same love that he did instantly, not letting it come organically. That said, the story did improve.
