Publisher's summary

Life used to be simple.

I was a city girl with humble dreams. Then Dylan O’Dea broke into my flat, held me against the wall, and told me to stay quiet.

It was like in the movies, where the universe zeros in on a single scene. I looked into his eyes and knew he was going to change me.

For Dylan, the sky was always falling. He showed me how our world is a contradiction of beauty and ugliness. How we choose to ignore the awful and gloss over it with the palatable. How you need just a tiny drop of something unsavoury to create every great scent.

Pretty deep for a pair of teenagers living in a block of council flats in inner city Dublin, right? Probably. But we weren’t typical. We both had our obsessions. Mine was growing things, Dylan’s was scent. He taught me how to use my nose, and I introduced him to the magic of flowers.

I had no idea that one day he’d build an empire from what we started together. But before that, there was love and happiness, tragedy and epic heartbreak....

My name is Evelyn Flynn and I’m going to tell you about the crack in everything.

an easy love

Evie and Dylans love is sweet and everything a young girl wishes for.

If only life always could be a fairytale and everyone get HEA.
this book left my heart broke, you ant help but cheer for Evie and Dylan and plan their future as you follow them on their journey of puppy love.

But life always must test people and shake the foundation you spend so long building.

I laughed I cried I longed to be Evie and wished my first boyfriend was Dylan

Heartbreaking and beautiful

While the love story of teens Dylan and Evelyn is set in an inpoverished Dublin neighborhood, it's a heartbreaking tale of love and violence that tracks with real life stories that happen everyday in my own Chicago and in other cities around the world. Told from Evelyn's perspective, we feel her joy and agony through L.H. Cosway's poignant writing. The only reason I'm not crying is that there's a sequel.

Spoilers...

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down from start to finish, but in the end it broke my heart because I'm a happily ever after kind of girl. I fell in love with the characters. L.H. Cosway made them real. They made me laugh, they made me cry, and they made me wish for something better. If you liked John Green's The Faint in Our Stars, I think you will love this book also.

Wonderful

With Main characters that are heart warming and secondary characters who make their own way into your heart.
The end of this book was simultaneously heart-warming and wrenching.
I am not ashamed to admit I cried.

Wonderful story. HAVE to get the continuation

love and loss

story got me hooked. it was much more realistic then most. I think that's why I had such a hard time with it. some neighborhoods devour what is good and sour the kind, forgiving and nurturing spirits. though it was not my favorite that may be because in some aspects of hit closer to home that I expected. read this and find for yourself. you will get caught up as well I'm sure.

Awwwwwwwwwwww I’m still in love

What a beautifully written coming of age story. It’s less sexy time for a “romance” novel. But it’s complicated, lovely, sweet, amazing. Worth the read. Left me satisfied and crying. Bravo.

Best Worst book I've ever read.

I only say this book is "bad" because I'm still crying while I write this. The ending was too realistic for me. Honestly, this book was SUPERB! I LOVED IT! The narrator was also very pleasant and I enjoyed listening to the Irish accent. This book was very well written and extremely insightful while still being extremely enjoyable. I loved the characters and all the different personalities. This book was a true piece of art and very well rounded. 10/10 recommend.

Heart breaking and beautiful

Beautifully written, relatable characters that make you laugh and then cry.
No happy ending here, so if you’re looking for that you’ll have to read on to the next book...

It's ok.

It was just an okay story. The ending could've been better and was pretty predictable.
