Publisher's Summary

There is a way of knowing that can take you beyond where all your learning has taken you. It is the way of direct experience of truth. It is the way of the heart.

It may be astonishing to hear that there is a continuation of A Course in Miracles, but it is true. Forty years ago, Jesus dictated ACIM to the scribe Helen Schucman. More recently, over three years, he similarly dictated A Course of Love to Mari Perron. Mari Perron is the channel. Students of ACIM will recognize the voice. Students of truth, whatever their background, will find that ACOL resonates with the heart.

A Course of Love was received and originally published in three distinct sections, or books: The Course, The Treatises, and The Dialogues. This is book one, The Course.

In A Course of Love, Jesus says: "This time we take a direct approach, an approach that seems at first to leave behind abstract learning and the complex mechanisms of the mind that so betray you. We take a step away from intellect, the pride of the ego, and approach this final learning through the realm of the heart. This is why, to end confusion, we call this course A Course of Love." (Prelude.44)

ACIM and ACOL are complementary; the same voice, Jesus, or the Christ consciousness, but more accessible; the same thought system, expanded. He emphasizes the importance of being wholehearted. Wholeheartedness is mind and heart working together, with the heart leading the way or providing guidance to the mind, which leads to miracles and revelation.

A channeled work, ACOL is not about adding to one's life, but about un-doing the ties that bind us to what it calls the "house of illusion". In ACOL, we are gently guided to awaken, step by loving step. We find ourselves in the unlimited, eternal field of our own awareness, laughing and crying at the glory of what is.

An unexpected gift from an unexpected Someone

Would you consider the audio edition of A Course of Love: The Course to be better than the print version?

I feel both are great!

What other book might you compare A Course of Love: The Course to and why?

Graduation: The End of Illusions by Paul Norman Tuttle. This is one of those books that transcend the thinking mind.

Which character – as performed by Mari Perron – was your favorite?

She read the whole book nicely.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt touched at a few places in the book. The way Mari read it was the main reason making the materials so alive.

Any additional comments?

I got into ACOL through ACIM Workbook Lesson 233 “I give my life to God to guide today”. I was praying for God for guidance for the next step after feeling the need for the "next" after doing the workbook for the third time. Through a WeChat group on ACIM, I was sent the review by Bob on ACOL. Despite the negative review, one line caught my attention: "ACOL claimed to be the extension of the coursework of ACIM". It felt like a direct answer to my prayer. This audible came immediately upon the search for ACOL. Listening to Mari narrating the book was wonderful, but I have to admit that it was the reading of the book that really got the essence into my heart. Listening again to Mari afterward was much more connecting. This is a beautiful book. If you really open up and feel, you will have to agree that this is indeed the "next" book. Looking forward for the narration of the Treaties and the Dialogues.

This is NOT the Combined Volume (of all 3 books)!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I was interested in starting at the end of the Treatises (the 2nd book) of the combined volume, as I was unable to read it due to my personal circumstances. Discovered that this audiobook only covers the first book, The Course. Image displayed shows the cover of the Combined Volume Book, which shows all three books -- so I was misled as to the contents. A note to your graphic artists - please correct the image! Thank you!

Any additional comments?

I look forward to seeing the ENTIRE combined volume available on audiobooks!I will have this purchase refunded until it is available . . .

Union

If you are an A Course in Miracles (ACIM) fan and haven't yet endeavored into A Course of Love (ACOL) you might be as astonished as I was when you discover how it could take you even deeper into the "awakening" by the precepts of joining. The same voice communicated to the receiver, Mari Perrone, continued with further wisdom regarding Identity as was given to the receiver, Helen Schuckman (ACIM). The words of the master first began coming to Ms. Perrone in 1998. Finalization and first publication happened in 2001. The book and its readers bring the possibility of a new world realized in the wholeness that so many other books and authors point to. It has changed everything in my life.

what are her credentials?

It sounds like a corny, banal Catholic program for seniors. She comes across as an opportunist who wants to take advantage of the original work of Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford, highly qualified psychologists who, in a period of seven years, completed the manuscript known as The Course in Miracles. This book is no continuation of that. She sounds drugged. Very unpleasant and fake.
