Publisher's Summary

A Course in Miracles: Supplements is part 4 of 4 (three books and one supplement) of the A Course in Miracles series. A Course in Miracles is also known as "the Course" or ACIM. Scribed by Dr. Helen Schucman, it is a self-study course that aims to assist listeners, readers, and students in achieving spiritual transformation. ACIM presents a purely non-dualistic philosophy of forgiveness and includes practical lessons and applications for the practice of forgiveness in one's daily life.

As its title implies, A Course in Miracles is arranged throughout as a teaching device. It consists of three books: Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers. The order in which students choose to use the books, and the ways in which they study them, depends on their particular needs and preferences.

These two supplements to the Course, "Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process, Practice" and "The Song of Prayer", are also included as part of ACIM. They were also scribed by Dr. Helen Schucman and are extensions of its principles.

"Psychotherapy", begun in 1973 and completed in 1975, offers a summary of the Course’s principles of healing: two people joined in sharing a common interest or goal. While ostensibly written for psychotherapists, all readers can benefit from its teachings. "The Song of Prayer" was scribed in 1977, and its three chapters summarize the Course’s teachings on prayer, forgiveness, and healing. It first presents the ego’s wrong-minded understanding of these terms, which is then contrasted with the Holy Spirit’s right-minded view.

These supplements presuppose a basic understanding of the Course’s teachings, and are helpful adjuncts to a student’s study and practice of A Course in Miracles.

The Course

The Course is life changing if you work with it. I am experiencing a much deeper peace and understanding of who we are in Truth and I laugh a lot more.

Bought this for my partner

I bought this book for my partner at this point in my life. I know nothing of this book other than everyone talking about how wonderful it is to the point of putting it on a pedestal which no one can reach. Most of the time we hear about from people who profess the time they have spent studying it without ever mastering it.

There is no sure way to achieve peace of God than through these manuals. The choice need only be made, the path followed, the way taken.

Narrator is too fast

I preferred the pace and tone of Mr. Stewart, who read the other ACIM material. The delivery felt rushed in this one. The content is just as amazing, though. :)

Holy

The words contained in any part of ACIM are holy. When one is ready the holiness in them will awaken. Read any words from this course and your heart will charge and your soul will awaken. To all my brothers and sisters; Forgive, Pray, Heal.

The Benefits of Doing The work

After you have read the text cover to cover numerous times. After you have done all the workbook lessons. After Lifespring. Louise Hay. Breath sessions and affirmations (with a response column). After regressions, ear wax venting, The Manual For Teachers, and wading through the Uber text quicksand... there are these two slender little 1977 booster shots. Enjoy!
