Story
First published in 1936, Keynes’ ideas had evolved during the difficulties following World War 1 in Europe, and the US crash and the Depression of the 1920s-'30s and the misery of mass unemployment. He deplored the situation where a few individuals or companies stored massive wealth while vast numbers experienced poverty and insecurity (his alarm bells ring today!) and sought to promote initiatives where governments could intervene with social projects to keep money fluctuating.

Story
Here is a perfect introduction to financial accounting for non-financial managers, stock market investors, undergraduate business and MBA students, lawyers, lenders, entrepreneurs, and more. Most introductory finance and accounting books either fail because they are written by accountants for accountants or the authors "dumb down" the concepts until they are virtually useless. Financial Statements deftly shows that all this accounting and financial reporting stuff is not rocket science and that anyone can understand it!

Publisher's Summary
In this revised and updated edition of A Concise Guide to Macroeconomics, David A. Moss draws on his years of teaching at Harvard Business School to explain important macro concepts using clear and engaging language. This guidebook covers the essentials of macroeconomics and examines, in a simple and intuitive way, the core ideas of output, money, and expectations. Early chapters leave you with an understanding of everything from fiscal policy and central banking to business cycles and international trade. Later chapters provide a brief monetary history of the United States as well as the basics of macroeconomic accounting. You'll learn why countries trade, why exchange rates move, and what makes an economy grow. Moss' detailed examples will arm you with a clear picture of how the economy works and how key variables impact business and will equip you to anticipate and respond to major macroeconomic events, such as a sudden depreciation of the real exchange rate or a steep hike in the federal funds rate.
Listen to this book from start to finish for a complete overview of macroeconomics, or use it as a reference when you're confronted with specific challenges, like the need to make sense of monetary policy or to read a balance of payments statement. Either way you'll come away with a broad understanding of the subject and its key pieces, and you'll be empowered to make smarter business decisions.

Mostly useful.
The explanations of GDP and the history of fiat currency were compelling. Some sections, such as recent IMF balance sheet policy details seemed out of place in what is meant to be billed as a high level, foundational overview.

Good book, but not suited to audio-book format
I really wanted to like the book and appreciated for the availability of the audible version. Unfortunately I couldn't stand listening to the reading of long formulas while driving. I ended up ordering a book from Amazon. If you have time to sit still with the PDF in front of you, then it might work for you.

Limited
It gives a good overview over certain macroeconomic topics such as money and expectations. Very brief, and general discussions, however, it could have detailed more why certain phenomenon occur and why the discussion is so hot.
I recommend this book as a very brief intro to macroeconomics for 1y students, however, look further if you want a book explaining the set-up, players and history of economics, the latter being very important to assess todays progress and accomplishments.
