Laying more ground work.

This one had lots of histories and felt kinda like more prep work and overview. Still exciting.

Waste of money

Could have been a interesting book. The narrators did nothing for the content . They tried to narrate the book in a dramatic tone of voice but they botched it. I had to force myself to finish listening...

Satisfies the urge for confirmation

If you have read something like "The Occult Tradition" by David Katz, it is satisfying to hear that the original sources really did say exactly what the scholars like Katz have written. Don't attempt this book unless you have a background in the topic; this is not the place to learn it. As for the performance, the two readers are saddled with the task of reading endless assertions, syllogisms, analogies, metaphors, etc. in which every word is intensely important, each author attempting an info-dump approach to validation. Requires active listening as opposed to pleasure listening. My comments pertain to volume 1 as well.
