Had to speed up the story because of the narration

Would you be willing to try another one of Celeste Ciulla’s performances?

I didn't like the narrator's performance of this book. She had odd pauses and "upspeak" that was distracting to me. I sped up the playback speed to 1.5 time normal so that it wouldn't be as noticeable.

Another poor narration

Too many pauses in the wrong places. Destroys the story with inflections either missing entirely or in the wrong places.

Christmas X 2

My copy included Christmas in Cold Creek as well. I absolutely loved both stories. They both have heartache and happiness along with Christmas Magic. Some of the characters make appearances in both stories but they can be read in any order.

Narrator needs to take less breaks

The stories were good- perhaps a bit sappy, but that's OK. The reader or editor of the recording need to MOVE ALONG! She took a breath and a break after every sentence! I had to put the speed on 1.25 just to keep my attention. Every space between sentences I kept thinking, "...yes...and...get on with it already!"

Decent story...slow narrator

It's two stories around Christmas. Stories themselves are decent. Probably would have preferred reading instead. The narration was so slow and long pauses. It took me a while to get used to it. I did eventually, so the slowness didn't bother me as much on the second story.

Great story, not so great narrator

This was a lovely little Christmas story. It especially appealed to me since the protagonist is a librarian. But the narration takes away from it. She's a reader rather than an actor. Odd pauses halfway through each sentence means that you lose the rhythm of the story. Also the habit of ending every other sentence in a question feels strange. I might not have noticed if it weren't for the fact that I always have a book playing and know just how much of a difference a great narrator can make to a story. So, I'm disappointed.

Romance

A feel good romance that was just not for me. Not bad characters, but, I kept waiting for the end and then... there is a second book I did not go onto.

Awful narrator!

What a fake voice Celeste Ciulla has! I listened to the book, and all the while thought never again do I want to listen to her voice!
