Publisher's summary

In this modern take on a holiday classic, high school junior, Kerril, faces her past, present, and future to be reminded of the good in others, and in herself.

Haunted by the memory of the worst of her divorced parents' public Christmas blowouts, Kerril, will do almost anything to avoid the upcoming tinsel-filled season. Unfortunately, a teacher with a grudge casts Kerril as the lead in the school's holiday production. To add to the misery, she will star alongside ultra-awkward Adam as her love interest. Wanting to ditch the play, Adam, her parents, and Christmas altogether, Kerril accepts an invitation to take off to a cabin with her ultimate dream crush, Perry - only Perry may not be the guy she hoped he was, and it's not until she's left Adam behind to fend for himself onstage that she realizes he might just be the guy of her dreams.

A delightful story to get in the Christmas spirit

This is a wonderful listen. The author has put her own spin on the classic Christmas story... She has made it her own.. She modernized it and put in some twists that added a lot of life to the tale.. A great read leading up the Christmas season. I really enjoyed this book.

Fun Listen

A Christmas Kerril is a modern re-telling of the classic A Christmas Carol, with a young girl named Kerril as the Scrooge character. A painful Christmas memory has Kerril hating the holidays and she's certain that this year will be no different. Can a school assignment and a quiet boy change her mind?

I enjoyed this audiobook and liked that it was such a unique take on a classic. The characters were realistic and dealt with some very difficult problems, like divorce and a speech impediment. The narration was very well done and added to my enjoyment. I would recommend A Christmas Kerril.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is my honest opinion.

What a great update of Dickens

I love a Christmas Carol, and at t1, I know the history, the ins and outs, have read numerous reworks past, present future. But I never would have thought of a YA-contemporary version.

And, I’ve had a great time wanting to kick Perry, and grew to love the foible filled Kerrill. This was wonderful.

An interesting take on an old tale.

The narrator brings this book to the front. A good story and fun to listen to. I received this audio book for free at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Okay first off I'm a dude...

So as a guy who doesn't read fiction-at all-I have to say I am enjoying this book. I tried to use it to fall asleep but it's engaging enough to keep me awake-and interested. Am I surprised? You bet. Happy for sure. Worthwhile.
