Unmarried housemaid Mary-Anne Carter fears for her job after her employers face financial ruin. In desperation, she decides to become a mail order bride and starts corresponding with rancher Davey Granger. However, Mary-Anne knows she must flee immediately when she is accused of theft.
Davey Granger’s life is lonely, and he craves a wife by Christmas. When he begins corresponding with Mary-Anne, he knows she will suit him well. When Mary-Anne suggests marrying quickly, Davey happily agrees.
Enamoured with his new wife, he is nonetheless mortified when the day after the wedding, the newspaper brings news of Mary-Anne as a woman on the run. As he tries to reconcile with the woman, she seems to be, with the thief described in the paper Davey withdraws.
When disaster strikes and Mary-Anne fights for her life, Davey is faced with a dilemma; if he chooses the wrong path, he will sacrifice everything that he holds dear. Will a Christmas miracle occur, and everything be healed? Will the truth be discovered? Can Christmas love fill lonely hearts? Will Mary-Anne and Davey find the happiness they crave?
