A Cute Cozy, Would Love To Hear More

"A Caffeinated Crunch" was a cute and light cozy mystery that was enjoyable. At just over two hours it was easy to listen to in one sitting. Also, there was a lot of story here. I thought the story line was good and the characters were great. I especially liked the protagonist Lily. Oh and also the aunts.

The story was well-rounded and perfectly timed. It was a cozy mystery with some giggles in between. All in all, I liked it and would love to hear more from Contance Barker as well as Angel Clark.

Angel Clark did a great job narrating this audiobook. I thought she portrayed the characters well and I heard a bit of a southern drawl which I really liked. I feel that this was a great author/reader combination which is always a win for me.

Great job, definitely recommended and I look forward to more.

Not really for me...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narration. I know others said they enjoyed it but I felt it was silly. Also, there just wasn't enough "meat" to the story for me. I wasn't connected to any of the characters.

If you’ve listened to books by Constance Barker before, how does this one compare?

N/A

What aspect of Angel Clark’s performance would you have changed?

The narration was choppy in places and sometimes it was hard to tell who was talking or if it was narration instead.

Could you see A Caffeinated Crunch being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I don't know.

Good Humor

Lily and the two aunts have dates to same function. A retirement center and the love triangles brings a lot of humor. Good narration, given audio for my voluntary review and my voluntary review

Caffein GOOD.

Would you listen to A Caffeinated Crunch again? Why?

Probably... after hearing book 1.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

No, I slumped a bit but did stay in the seat.

What three words best describe Angel Clark’s performance?

Do-able, ummm, ummm...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The confession had me laughing out loud.

Any additional comments?

First up, anything that reminds me of coffee or chocolate is a GREAT thing. That being said, this was a cute story. I must admit the first few minutes were a bit off. The narrator’s voice irritated at the beginning, but I found turning the volume down helped with that. I believe the story would have been better (to me), if I had known what had happened in the first book as it was repeatedly referenced but never told.
My favorite character(s) were the two aunts. I would LOVE to see them in action, a tv series perhaps??? I must admit my favorite part was the grinding of the coffee beans. I found the sound effect and timing hilarious.
The ‘red herring’ thrown out about the killers identity, was a bit too obvious. I felt the ending was rushed, but the killers confession was HILARIOUS. I could actually picture it and HAD to laugh out loud. All in all, I found it a lighthearted and enjoyable romp. Can’t wait to hear more… don’t forget about the tv series idea… just saying…

Inane

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Give me a story. Dive into the mystery right away to hold my attention.

Would you ever listen to anything by Constance Barker again?

Not likely.

Would you be willing to try another one of Angel Clark’s performances?

No. Voice is too high pitched and halting.

Do you think A Caffeinated Crunch needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. First one doesn't get off the ground.

Coffee, Eccentric Aunts and Murder; What a Brew!

This is a cute funny Cozy. It is a nice humorous short listen. Who used a golf cart to run over and kill the local senior citizen Lothario? The unlikable victim cheated on his wife, and sweet talked the women that he had affairs with out of their life savings. Was it the wife or one of his many conned lovers who ran him down with a golf cart?

Add to the mix Lily and her two quirky, eccentric aunts for laughs and fun and the brew is complete.

A very enjoyable short listen. No great in depth mystery just a fun short listen cozy.

A really good short story

Would you try another book from Constance Barker and/or Angel Clark?

I would try another of Ms. Barker's books but only if there was a different narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Caffeinated Crunch?

I didn't have a memorable moment of this book.

Would you be willing to try another one of Angel Clark’s performances?

No, I have listened to her before and I do not care for her style. I would not have requested this book had I been paying attention to whom was narrating it.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Maybe
