Publisher's summary

I worked hard, everything I planned almost within my grasp, and then one flicker in time, mere seconds, and it’s all gone. Now I’m starting at zero, stuck in a place called the outpost, which is neither here nor there but some limbo land for those who haven’t transitioned.

I’m sleeping in a broom closet, choking on fumes, while everyone declares me useless. Kaden, the guy that runs this place, keeps telling me there’s nothing I can do to go back. That once the change is set in motion, it’s impossible to reverse.

Every day, each step, takes me farther away from where I want to be and closer to Kaden and a mysterious land of darkness. The only way out of this mess is forward, away from the life I built, and the people I love....

OK book

I like the characters. I wish I had realized that the book ends in a cliffhanger because I want to know what happens but had a difficult time being completely engrossed in the story so I'm stuck trying to decide if I should continue with the series or not. It honestly left me very confused with a lot of questions (that might be answered in the next book, who know?!). I also am not a huge fan of the narrator for the book. Some of her voices for various characters were really high-pitched and difficult to listen to. I'm sorry, I feel bad saying that, but I do think that is part of why I struggled to finish this book. Now, to decide if I'm going to read the next one or just let it go?!?!

Great story

As always fun and interesting. I enjoyed the book very much. I’m looking forward to seeing the characters develop over the next books in the series

Too similar to….

This is whimsy witch and Ollie Witt meet we don’t yet know.
The personality of all the characters are repeats.
I still like it and will buy the next one.
Reading Connor said, Dice said, I said four paragraphs at a time are unnecessary when their are multiple voices make and female.

I give up

DNF at Chapter 11.

This was one time when I will say that the narrator actually made a difficult book ever harder to listen to.

I give up.

After 11 chapters, I really don’t like the female MC. I have no clue what is going on…at all. There has been virtually no world building, and the narrator has the whiniest little girl voice for the female MC that I have EVER heard. Ever. (She sounds like a 5 year old). Ick.
