Publisher's summary

A love story will be rewritten in this heartfelt romance from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.

Ophelia Bishop was a lovestruck teenage girl when she and Kyle Kimpton chased their dreams to Hollywood. Kyle’s dreams came true. Ophelia’s did not. When Kyle chose his career over their relationship, Ophelia returned home to rural New York to run the family’s B & B—wiser, and more guarded against foolish fantasies. Now Kyle has come crashing back into her life, and all her defenses are down.

Kyle can’t think of a better place to write his latest screenplay than his hometown. After all, that was where he met the heart of his inspiration—his first love. He knows the damage he’s caused Ophelia, and he wants a chance to mend their relationship. If anyone can prove to Ophelia that happy ever afters aren’t only for the movies, it should be him.

As much as Ophelia’s changed, she still has feelings for Kyle. But her heart has been broken before, and she knows that Kyle could run back to Hollywood at any time. She gave up her dreams once, but maybe she can dare to change her own love story…one last time.

Ophilia and Kyle

After reading the first book, I am already in love with this family and the few side characters that make a repeat appearance. I enjoyed this book and it is personal taste in tropes that is the only reason this one wasn't as good as the first book for me. I'm not the biggest fan of second chance trope and there are so many out there that it makes it even harder for me to really love this trope. I'm more into the first time meeting type of romance. Everything else about this book was great and I'm glad I got to see Ophelia get her HEA.

Oh man. So many feels in this book. I loved it! Erin Bennett is one of my favorite narrators and I’ve just added Brian Pallino to that list. This is the first book I’ve listened to with this narrator and he’s phenomenal!!

Wow....This book will pull you in.

When an author can make you feel the characters emotions and be in the story with them, it makes a great book. Enjoy and thank you Jennifer.

Fast read and sequel to first book.

Plodding in the first half but then rips through the ending hang on tight for the finish.

Returning home to forgive and be forgiven

Ophelia is happy with her life in small town, Upstate NY. She is running the family’s B & B and has her brother & sister close by. Then a blast from her past returns...Kyle is a famous screenwriter and has been gone for 10 yrs...now he’s back for the next few months, for some quiet time to write. Kyle is best friends with Ophelia’s brother...and also her husband...turns out their divorce was never processed. Problem: no one knows that Ophelia and Kyle had gotten maried when they ran away to Hollywood back then. How will the family react when the truth is revealed? Will Ophelia ever forgive Kyle for choosing his career over her? Will Kyle forgive his alcoholic, abusive father?
The main theme of this book is forgiveness and I loved how each character worked through the process. It was nice to catch up with Ethan and Mia, Harper and the town folk. Overall a good book. Looking forward to Harper’s story

narrating

Erin Bennett read way too slow, but the book itself was fantastic, definitely would recommend!

Nice easy read

I love the story line in this book. Kyle returns home to win back his not-so ex-wife and to find his writing muse again. He is going to write the love story between him and Ophelia from the beginning when they were teenagers in love. I particularly like how Kyle reflects on the events that led up to Ophelia returning home to run the family B&B and realizes the mistakes that were made. I like this series from Jennifer Probst and can't wait until Harper's story is released.

Jennifer Probst Just Keeps Getting Better!

I started with The Marriage Bargain series, worked my way through the Searching For series, devoured the Billionaire Builders series, and cannot wait for the next installment of the Stay series.

The characters are well developed, the storyline is captivating, and the dialogue keeps the reader entertained throughout.
