Publisher's summary

Jake Martin is not your ordinary sleuth. He's an ordinary guy with an extraordinary dog. This time the story takes place in the foothills of Denver. Jake is accused of manslaughter, and he has to prove the accident was really murder. Along the way he encounters a poaching ring and falls in love with a beautiful game warden. The characters are memorable, and the plot is multilayered. This whodunit will keep listeners guessing until the very end.

Love The Series

This is one of my favorite authors and the narrator, Todd McLaren kind of sounds like Tom Hanks. Jake martin is an outsourced software engineer, handyman and writer who has a golden retriever named Fred. The story takes place in Denver and the narration made me feel like I was there.

Didn’t finish

This unfortunately bored me. I tried to get into it many times and then just stopped. I have thousands of books on audible, and I love dogs....but this left me flat. Seemed to be a low level of writing, plot development, and character development. Don’t waste a credit! Can’t even remember characters! Unimpressed.
