Exceptional!

Exceptional cannot begin to explain A Book, but it will have to do. It is dangerously honest and impeccably written. If you want to know the whole truth of such an iconic man, I'd read this book.

Loved it

This book was sooo engrossing! So much I didn't know about Desi, as well as Lucy. The narrator did a great job too. He really brought Desi to life and did a great job.

OMG . . .what a great listen for fans

I am drooling over this book and just didn't want it to end. Always having been a fan of all their collaborations as Lucy and Ricky, it was wonderful to get an inside perspective and gain true insight about Desi's life from the beginning and later from his public life, blown out of proportion by the tabloids. Fake news? It was amazing to learn what an empire he and Lucy had managed to build. If you were and still are a fan, I highly recommend it and suggest to follow up withh "LOVE LUCY."

A Force of Nature! I "Binge Listened", Riveted!

I never saw "I Love Lucy" or any of the other shows mentioned in this book. But those televisions products surely pale against the backdrop of this man's actual life! The book starts a little slow with the details of escaping from civil war-torn Cuba, as a child. Only to find himself living in a rat-infested warehouse in Miami with his father. Not speaking English. With brilliant solutions to problems and challenges, he carves his way across the country as an applauded musician, shapeshifts into an actor, and film and theater visionary that dominates the entertainment industry in America from Hollywood to Madison Avenue in New York. And at the same time propelling his wife into superstardom. An unstoppable, brilliant force of nature! This is one of the most amazing memoirs I have ever read. I could not put it down at "bedtime" and was still riveted at 5:00 A.M. after all night binge listening. The narration is captivating and musical with such a beautiful voice. Do not deny yourself the pleasure of listening to this audiobook! This could be a fascinating 10 season television series! Desi Arnaz has to be the most underestimated, under-celebrated human being that ever crossed the globe. Everyone should have the pleasure, and glory, of knowing his story. He was a phenomenon!

Filled with interesting details!

I really enjoyed this book. It was quite thorough. There was a ton of interesting details and facts. I read Lucille Ball's book, 'Love, Lucy' first and absolutely adored it. It made me want to hear Desi's story too and I'm glad I did. I'm blown away by the amount of stuff that he (and Lucy) accomplished and was involved in.
I will try to add more of a review later when I have time.

interesting

So much history in this book. TV history, and World, and POP culture. THe reader sounds just like him in my opinion. It was nice to read after Love Lucy (her manuscript).
