Publisher's summary

Since 90 Minutes in Heaven was first published in 2004, millions of people worldwide have heard the incredible true story of Don Piper's experience with death and life - and they have consequently found their own lives changed.

After a semi-truck collided with Don Piper's car, he was pronounced dead at the scene. For the next 90 minutes, he experienced the glories of heaven. Back on earth, a passing minister felt led to stop and pray for the accident victim even though he was told Piper was dead. Miraculously, Piper came back to life, and the pleasure of heaven was replaced by a long and painful recovery.

With a personal update from Don on the impact the book has had on him, his family, and the millions who have heard his story, even those who have gone through the original book will want to be part of the continuing story of 90 Minutes in Heaven with this new edition.

A Man's Calling

I loved this book. At the end of my review I do discuss some of the other reviews in regard to this book, not to judge people, but to allow other readers to see an alternate point of view in regard to them.
Again, I loved this book. I loved that Don shared even his low points, and I am sure there are more than were written. When we are in pain, struggling and "helpless" in changing the situation, we can often lash out at those around us. We do this because we are suffering, and even knowing it is wrong, we want others to hurt as much as we are. Don did this, I almost want to say I feel vindicated in my lashing out, but either way it is not how God wants us to be. God knew what He was doing, He was preparing Don for his work ahead. Can you imagine how many people could have been lost to the throws of depression and misery if Don had not already gone through this? Two people in particular stand out the young man in the ski accident and the man who had an infection that would have died had Don not talked to him. Young people, I do not believe have the ability to completely comprehend their actions in the moment. I truly believe that had Don not gone through it and shared his compassion, those two would died, the young man from suicide and the other from the unknown infection. Two souls lost to the depths of hell. This book did touch me, not entirely through Don's experience and ability to find grace, but though a story he told of the man who went blind later in life. He was so angry about what he could not do, he no longer counted the things he could. It was suggested that he make a list of the things he could do. It woke me up to how I have been behaving, I was so selfish, I quit thanking God for the things I had, the abilities He provided me through learning from others. I am a single mom with 5 kids, money is okay MOST of the time. My bills are paid, my kids have clothes and their needs are met, everyday, and most of their wants are satisfied. I have the ability to provide for them through hard work and perseverance that God gave me to get through college and graduate with a 3.41 GPA when every other time in school, I received D's and F's. Yet, I have found recently I have been less than thankful and a little than more ungrateful and a WHOLE LOT OF pride mixed in. This book is teaching me that I need to change that back to being humble, thankful, and giving, even when I don't want to be.
Go into this book with an open mind, allow God to show you His winder, beauty, compassion, joy, and LOVE. He loves us, unconditionally. This is a beautiful book, and I for one am a better person for reading it.
I have read some of the reviews, many state it did not have enough about Don's experience in heaven. Maybe, it was not supposed to be entirely about what happened there. I take it as a man died, he was dead for 90 minutes he went to heaven and returned. He suffered great torment and pain for months and years. Some of us, would never be able to endure such pain. God chooses us and prepares us for His will. Don goes to people who are enduring such pain and agony and gives them hope. He brings people to Christ based on his experience alone. He brings comfort to those who have lost loved ones. God prepared him for this journey, we do not know all of what he experienced in heaven, maybe he does not remember everything that happened to him, God could have prepared his body for the struggles that lay ahead. WE DO NOT KNOW, we should praise God for Don's testimony. As for his discounting other testimonies, well God gives us discernment to determine false teachers, and there are many, do you believe that there are no false testimonies?

Best book ever written!!!!

Don’s attention to the details, pulls the reader into the story like no other. I am now more than ever convinced, confident and secured in the knowledge that my loved one’s are in heaven and will be waiting at the gates for me. I am no longer afraid of death but overjoyed in knowing that I will someday be with my loved one’s once again!

Christianity Propaganda Nonsense

NDE’s are real, but this book is just Christianity recruitment propaganda. It’s a poorly written attempt at a money grab. SKIP

Too much tooting

I turned the book off because I couldn’t tolerate listening any longer to the extensive tooting his own horn about where he bad been,
where he traveled and who he met. Those are the exact things I loved about organized Christianity. I’m sorry if this offends anyone. Too bad I couldn’t get past his rhetoric because I’m sure it was a wonderful story but I couldn’t listen any longer to the diatribe of how important he was.
