淀殿の父は戦国大名「浅井長政」、母は「織田信長」の妹「市」。しかし浅井長政は織田軍によって城を落とされ浅井家は滅亡。この時、市と淀殿ら娘3人は、父を殺した伯父・織田信長に引き取られることに。

平安時代末期を生き絶世の美女といわれる人物。
鎌倉幕府を築いた「源頼朝」の父「源義朝」の側室で、「源頼朝」の腹違いの弟「源義経(牛若)」の母、さらにのちには「平清盛」の側室になる女性。
源義経が産まれたが後、平治の乱が勃発すると源義朝は平清盛に敗れる。常盤御前は、戦火から逃れるため源義朝の3人の子供と共に大和に隠れ住んでいた。しかし、常盤御前の母が京都で捉えられて拷問を受けているという知らせが。常盤御前は、母と子供達を救うため平清盛に出頭することに…。

後鳥羽上皇の妾で鎌倉時代前期を生き、のちに傾国の美女(けいこくのびじょ)と呼ばれる女性。
1221年に起こった「承久の乱」は、鎌倉幕府に決起した後鳥羽上皇が敗れたことにより「武家政権」が決定づけられた日本の歴史上ターニングポイントともいえる事件だが、その原因は亀菊による後鳥羽上皇へのおねだりがあった…。
・額田王の巻(26分)
「万葉集」に多くの歌が残っている宮廷歌人で、2人の天皇に愛されたことでも知られる女性。
「あかねさす」から始まる和歌は、額田王の代表作だが、昔の恋人をたしなめる歌といわれる。額田王が天智天皇の妻になった自分にまだ愛を伝えようとする大海人皇子の行動をたしなめるという内容だが、その背景にあったものとは…。
