Publisher's Summary

The return of the long-lost ten tribes, a new Jerusalem being built, heavenly messengers from beyond this life.... It may sound like fantasy, but according to the scriptures, all of these things will really come to pass before our Savior comes again. In fact, these signs were designed by the Lord to alert true believers to his imminent return. The question is, Will you recognize the signs?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If it was the actual book and not a talk.

What was most disappointing about David Ridges’s story?

That this is not the actual book

What about David Ridges’s performance did you like?

Good content but NOT a book recording!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend the printed book, yes; but not this audio recording.

What aspect of David Ridges’s performance would you have changed?

This audio version is a recording of David giving a talk. I would have replaced it with David narrating his book.

Any additional comments?

David is a good speaker and I like what I learned from this audio recording, but I expected to hear a book narration, not a talk. Nothing on Audible.com's website for this book indicated that it was a talk. Furthermore, this recording only covers about 35 of the author's interpretations of the signs of the times. I'm very disappointed, Audible.

Great insight and very "listenable"!

I learned quite a bit and enjoyed the conversational tone that Brother Ridges has. Will be listening again to take notes. Definitely recommend.

Good but missing important information

The author did a good job in relating things but he uses the scripture that “no man knoweth the day nor the hour” as basis for not trying to sequence events. Since this is an audience that is most likely members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we should consider the quote from Joseph Smith that said Christ was only speaking in the present tense but He did not say no man ever will know the day or hour. In the authors relating some of these events he tended to be demeaning of those that have sought to know the day or the hour. We should remember that even the foolish virgins were waiting for the arrival of the bridegroom. In relating this and talking about what would happen before the second coming he made it seem like it was just going to be a random appearance that would catch everyone off guard which we know from scripture is not the case.

This isn't the actual book!

This isn't the actual book. this is just a roughly 90 minute talk that goes over 38 of the 65 signs mentioned in the title. The talk itself is fine and interesting, but it's definitely not what I thought I was paying for!

Great for Latter-Day Saints

Thoroughly enjoyed this lecture. Wished it was the whole book instead of just an hour or so of lecture. Very pleasant narration. My wife also loved it and was bummed when it was over.

I liked it a list of items

A list of different items each one briefly explained and also interconnected to the others with the time frame of when they have occurred or perhaps will occur

Out of context and false information

David ridges claims in this audio book (audible) that no man knows the day nor the hour, and even uses some mans criticism of the out of context use of that phrase and he still didn’t do his study, and at the end he states there is no doctrine on how the terrestrial state people will be able to withstand the second coming… yes there is, it’s called the doctrine of translated beings… you must be of terrestrial order living celestial laws in a telestial environment and you can be sanctified and be translated … this is very basic doctrine… found in 3 Nephi 28,
Anyway, this is mediocre at best, you can get a better more detailed information doing a topical guide search in the scriptures or reading the teaching manual for gospel doctrine and seminary and institute.

More items

Great to listen to. Easy listening. Wish there were more items for the book. There are only 35+ and the book notes 65.
