Did you know that heaven keeps a prisoner? You'll get to meet him soon.

Or that the grim reaper's scythe isn't there to harvest you? It's really to protect you against something on your journey.

I still don't think that's as bad as the time I threw a suicide watching party, or when my sex doll wouldn't stop crying though. Then there was that road trip where we saw the same hitchhiker at every stop for the last hundred miles....

This is a huge collection of 52 psychological horror and supernatural horror stories, the second volume to the Amazon best-selling horror collection, 51 Sleepless Nights.

Inside, you'll find stories about:

  • Angels and demons
  • Serial killers and assassins
  • Aliens and monsters
  • Undead and mad experiments
  • Supernatural and paranormal horror
  • An angry midget dressing up as a little girl to catch pedophiles (Why not?)
  • And so much more!

Terrible.

This is the worst experience with a book/short story I have had so far on Audible. The stories either ended abruptly, or the endings did not seem to fit with the story itself, also, maybe three or four were actually decent. The majority of the stories went in a circle, or seemed like the writer turned his brainstorming session into short stories. I had a very difficult time finishing this. I DO NOT recommend this at all, please do not waste your time and/or money. The narrator was also very painful to listen to. I would not recommend listening to any other book/short story he has narrated.

Too many stories go nowhere.

It seems these were some stories the author wrote down in a journal and never completed his thoughts. I think if he fleshed out some of these, it would gave been better but to me they were all over the place. This is not to say I think the author is a bad writer, just needs work on some of these stories. The narrator had no range and each story and the same tone which made it hard to get through all of them. I received this book for free in exchange for a voluntary unbiased review.

Mostly gripping

as a fan of short story horror compilations to buy a suede does not disappoint. He weaves a tapestry of language that builds character and atmosphere quickly and apparently effortlessly before taking you on a quick ride over and over again. quite a few of these stories were very satisfying and a small handful seems like filler but overall an excellent compilation.

Great stories, ok narration

I love Tobias Wade's short stories, and this collection is a great listen. I wish the book had a more animated narrator, though. Paul Jenkins tends to be a bit monotone, so the stories lose some of their suspense.

Not So Thrilling Collection

I was given this title free for an honest review.

This book could have been so much better. Many of the stories left the listener hanging. Perhaps we were to use our imaginations as to how the tale was to end, but that left a bitter taste. There were a number of very well written stories in this collection. I just felt that the narration left the book collection very flat. Perhaps, it was never meant that these stories were written for narration. I may have come away with an entirely different impression if I had read the book instead of listened to it.

Some better than others...

This was a nice mix of stories, ranging from horror to scifi. As expected, some stories were better than others. I would say I at least "liked" the majority of these stories, and only disliked a few. The narration was solid and provided ample atmosphere, which conveyed the tone of the stories. I would recommend this mix.I was provided a free copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.

A Great Mix!

Just as the description says, it's a bit of everything. I enjoyed the various stories and that you can skip through to a particular one. It was nice that the stories were a mixture of suspense, thriller, mystery and horror. I enjoyed not knowing which type would be next. Some were better than others and there were several that could easily be made into a much longer story and be great! I thought the narrator did an excellent job, especially since there's 52 different stories. I will be listening to this collection many more times and will be looking into getting the first collection (51 Sleepless Nights).

Not what I was expecting... in a bad way

I really looked forward to listening to this book after reading 51 sleepless nights, this collection however is a pale comparison to the collection in 51 Sleepless nights. I am sad to say I feel truly let down.

Unique short stories.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first experience of this author. I'll be honest, I almost abandoned it because the narrator sounded just like the guy who does River Monsters and I couldn't concentrate on the stories! I'm glad I persevered though. I wouldn't say they'll keep me up at night and I probably wouldn't quite label them horror. BUT they are well written and interesting and unique stories. I'll repeat unique - it's hard to do within this very saturated genre. The author clearly has quite an imagination. I love short stories but am curious to see how his ideas would translate to a full length novel.

Thanks for the opportunity to listen & review. Will look out for more.

Some real gems

I love horror short stories. I've never really liked slow drawn out horror as I think something is lost in the padding, so these bite sized pieces are perfect. Some real gems amongst these, particularly the 'that could really happen ' stories involving everyday people. I listened to some of them with growing dread as the horror unfolded. Only deducted one star for narration because although I got used to the narrator he was quite wooden with very little inflection. Off to buy another Tobias Wade.
