I came into this expecting a buddy cop procedural set at a comic convention. what I got was that, but also; toilets to hell, furries at war, destructive Baptists, Randon Alan Tudyk side quests, and an annoying Deadpool cosplayer who has no moral compass.
These random side stories, while fun, detracted from the overall story for me. I like my mysteries to stay on topic. They also ruined the realism. I know crazy stuff happened at Cons, but come on, portals to hell do not show up in the toilet?
The author/narrator did a great job of capturing the voices of the real world actors who cameo in the story, (I wonder if they will agree to play themselves in a movie version.) The rest o the voice acting was fun to listen to as each character had a unique voice and they played off each other in a convincing way.
if you like cons, murder mysteries, or nerd culture in general then you will like this.

I enjoyed hearing the author voice the characters since it's his interpretation of those characters directly. As a game master for many ttrpg's, I really enjoy when a character is brought to life by their creator, it makes the whole thing more real and interesting.
I'm definitely going to check out more of this series and it's going to be fun listening to the shenanigans that Farnsworth and Diego get up to!
A fun, geeky, entertaining mystery romp!
