"The dirty little secret about most organizing advice is that it's written by organized people," says blogger, speaker, and decluttering expert Dana K. White. "But that's not how my brain works. I'm lost on page three." Dana blogs at A Slob Comes Clean, chronicling her successes and failures with her self-described "deslobification process". In the beginning she used the name Nony (short for aNONYmous), because she was sharing her deep, dark slob secret. Now she has truly come clean - with not only her real name but the strategies she has developed.

Fumio Sasaki changed his life when he became a minimalist. But before minimalism could really stick, he had to make it a habit. All of us live our lives based on the habits we’ve formed, from when we get up in the morning to what we eat and drink to how likely we are to actually make it to the gym. In Hello, Habits, Sasaki explains how we can acquire the new habits that we want - and get rid of the ones that don’t do us any good.

Great practical tips
I loved this book! Not only for the practical tips on HOW but even more so for the emphasis on the WHY! Susan Rosewood laid out several reasons why a family may want to implement a more "minimalist" lifestyle and really helped me understand if I didn't have a good grasp on my "why" I would never follow through! I really took this to heart and figured out my "WHY" and then the rest just fell into place. I can honestly say I am already breathing easier and feeling less stress as my house becomes clutter free for the first time in years!

Full of practical ideas!
Full of practical ideas. I love this book because it is full of things you can actually do rather than being a book of abstract philosophy. It has helped me focus on what is really important for me to do and eliminate time spent dealing with things I don't actually need in my life. This book has helped me achieve more freedom from the chains of a cluttered sometimes chaotic life. No more running hither and fro stealing my life from myself because of so many trivial things that now seem wholly unimportant.

Excellent ideas
I've listened numerous books on a simple lifestyle and this is one of the very best. The authors know what they are talking about. Under the bed storage collects dust and dust mites. Closet storage units hide unused clutter And I've helped clean enough storage sheds to know the worthless junk they contain. Save your money. Give the usable items away, discard the rest. I totally agree that there should be a place for everything and everything should be in its proper place. That way you'll know where it is and rarely have to hunt or an item when you need it.The key to making this work is putting items in their proper place as soon as you are finished using them. The book is full of really practical decluttering suggestions. Also excellent ideas on the importance of decluttering. It inspired another round of decluttering.

Really liked the book but the audio was messed up
I really enjoyed the content of this audiobook. My only problem was the narrator. I’m not sure if this was edited properly or what, but the text was repeated multiple times and at one point you could hear the narrator pause with frustration and correct the previous sentence. Never had this happen before. Strange.

Awesome concepts!
I'm so happy I stumbled upon the documentary, The Minimalists on Netflix! It got me thinking about how I live my life and if I would consider myself content and happy. Certain aspects of my life, yes I'm completely happy with, however there is still a void which seems to have progressively gotten worse over the last year. So, after watching The Minimalists, I decided that this lifestyle had to be what was right for me, thus led me to the book, Minimalism. I must say that it has given me a much better understanding of this way of living and i couldn't be more excited to start on the journey to my minimalistic life.

Very insightful
This a great book if you’re looking into or stepping into this new minimal lifestyle. It’s a great start to into getting ready to start living life with more meaning. It isn’t meant to depict specially what to do or how to do it. It’s meant to briefly describe how they themselves got started and how you can too. It is an easy listen and I think slightly insightful. This is a great book for taking notes and reflecting on how you might want to start your new journey.
