Publisher's Summary

School psychologists aren't supposed to write books about sex. Doing so would be considered "unethical" and "a fireable offense." Lucky for you, ethics was never my strong suit.

After spending years trying to spice up my sex life, I gave up and took to my journal. Perhaps my gorgeous, cold, number-crunching husband simply wasn't capable of the kind of passion I'd come to expect. After all, my ex-boyfriends (a skinhead turned US Marine turned motorcycle club outlaw, a baby-faced punk rocker out on parole, and a heavy-metal bass player) were every bit as tattooed and testosterone-fueled as the leading men in my favorite romance novels. If I couldn't have that kind of passion again in real life, I could at least write about it. Right? Nobody had to know. It would be my little secret.

Well, guess what?

My husband read that shit.

And guess what else?

He upped his f--king game.

Drunk with power and under the dubious advisement of my best friend and colleague, I began testing the limits, crafting journal entries specifically designed to manipulate Ken's behavior. For the most part, he responded beautifully...except when he didn't.

What a 5 star book sounds like

I read this book when it came out and loved it. I usually don't listen to a book after I've read it, but I was really interested to hear how Ramona Master was going to pull it off.

BB tells the story of her teenage through current life as told through the relationships she has had with 4 men. Each one completely messed up in their own way, well except for her husband Ken. He is the most normal one, if not the most boring. However, he might be the most comical. From skin heads to musicians, BB had a certain taste in men that made for some comical stories.

This book is a hoot and also will make you remember your own growing years and contemplate how you yourself ended up in the place you are in. I loved it even more in audio than in print.

Ramona Master was the perfect choice. Her voice is the perfect age and sound. She had the ability to pull off a great mix of crazy and flighty. I can't imagine anyone else fulfilling this role. She was excellent.

Great Read

44 Chapters About 4 Men was a great read by B.B. Easton. B.B. writes about the four men that were once a big part of her life. She started this book as a way to spice up her sex life with her husband Ken. I absolutely loved reading this book and can't wait to read more by B.B. Easton.

Why did I wait so long?

4.5 Stars
I am now BB Easton’s best friend. She doesn’t know it yet, but it’s true. I can tell by reading this fictionally elaborated memoir that we would have been getting into trouble together if we were the same age and knew each other. I have had 44 Chapters about 4 Men on my kindle since it came out, and just never had a chance to read it. When I saw it was in the audible romance package I couldn’t click fast enough. I am so glad I did. This was a completely unique and refreshing read!

I was a pretty wild one as a teen and went through a punk-rock/bad boy phase. I also lacked self-esteem so kind of went with any boy that liked me. I met my husband at 19, and he is one of the most colorless, vanilla people you’ll ever meet (except in bed). Even his voice is monotone. But he is the love of my life. Luckily I have no issues in the bedroom, in fact, my guy is a “Husboner” -definition from the book’s glossary:
Husboner (noun)—a married man who should be sick and tired of his wife’s stretched out, floppy old vag*** but instead behaves like an insatiable sex machine who just snorted an eight ball of coke.

But in other ways, I can totally relate to BB and her marriage to her Husbot, Mr. Personality.

"It’s a beautiful life Ken has given me, one filled with security and laughter and intelligent conversation and honeymoons in Paris and well-behaved children with long attention spans and cute noses and his-and-hers sinks and 401(k)s and well-manicured lawns. I just wish the orgasms matched the drapes, if you know what I mean."

Ken is an amazing husband. I loved him, but he was the complete opposite of the guys BB was used to.When Ken suddenly spiced things up a little in the bedroom, BB realized that he must have read her journal, and had an idea.

"…I’m going to start planting a glossily exaggerated Lifetime movie version of you under the filename Super Private Journal That Ken Is Never, Never Allowed to Read Ever where I will plant completely fabricated stories about my ex-boyfriends designed to inspire Ken to up his [effing] game."

So like a book within a book, BB writes fake journal entries about her amazing teen sexcapades with a skinhead, a punk rocker on parole and a bass player. But we also get to read the real journal entries about the same elaborated events.

I had so much fun listening to this book! It was just such a unique concept, and I loved the way it was about young romance but it was clearly an adult viewpoint. After all the fun that this book was, BB wrote longer books about each of the four guys to follow. They have amazing ratings, but the first being about a 16-year-old, I’m a little nervous about them. Though after laughing my butt off listening to this book, I think I would love anything more BB Easton writes, so I am clicking Skin, Knight's book.

The one I am most excited for though is Ken's book! I want to see how this guy who is the opposite of everyone she has dated won her heart. Supposedly it's coming soon!

Likes:
•Completely new and different.
•Made me laugh out loud.
•I could totally relate!
•I want to be best friends with BB Easton.
•Silly and raunchy, but there was still a good story.
•I was dying to know what was actual truth or not!

Dislikes:
•I had a little trouble remembering if I was in the fake story or not. I think some of the difficulty following may not have happened in a print version, it just didn’t flow that well in audio.

The Narration:
The narrator was just perfect for the story, but I think listening made it a little harder to keep up without the visual clues that it’s a journal entry. Still, if you really focus on your audiobooks, I don’t think this would be an issue. If you aren’t sure whether to read or listen, I would suggest read it, even though I loved the narrator’s performance.

The Down & Dirty:
44 Chapters About 4 Men by BB Easton completely lived up to the hype for me. It was refreshingly unique, funny as hell, sexy, relatable, full of pop-culture references and raunchy fun. I think the audio is a little harder to follow than the actual book would be because of the book-within-a-book format, but the narrator really nailed the BB part. I totally have a girl-crush on BB Easton after reading this, and look forward to more from her.

Interesting (and sexual) story of a married woman’s reminiscences

This was fun to listen to - but that may have been because I identified with the protagonist (I had my boyfriend listen to a sub-story and it was not his cup of tea).

Sex is described quite candidly and explicitly, so hopefully that’s something a potential listener would be interested in!

I enjoyed the performance by the narrator; she was able to bring a lot of positive energy and fun to the story!

I loved the back and forth of the stories and each of the 4 men were so different yet i could relate to dating guys just like each of them! I look forward to reading each of the 4 books on the individual men.

A creative genius wrote this book!

Purely the mind of a creative evil genius, BB Easton’s words greeted me enthusiastically, as I dug into the pages of this hilarious and completely original novel.

This is the first book written by BB that I have read and I could just kick myself for not reading her work sooner. I don’t remember a time that I was so caught up in the hilarity of a book that, at times, I thought that I might cause myself physical harm, I was laughing so hard while reading.

While the book is incredibly funny, I found that it was intensely hot and undoubtedly the most creative story that I have ever read before! I read a lot of romance books and this book was one of the first that I could not predict what would happen next or how it would end. Her ways, although a bit unethical, were downright entertaining. If you enjoy reading books, heavy with spice and want a great laugh, I highly recommend this book! I for sure will be reading more from her just as soon as I can.

Female POV only. Interesting take!!

I don't think I wouldve had as much fun with this book if I didn't listen to it. Ramona Master delivered BBEaston's book with perfect accuracy, character, emotion, and humour!!! LOVED the execution, Really fun story. I mean... just listen to the sample!! I fully enjoyed this refreshing idea of a book. And even though there are discussions of past Ex's, it doesn't feel like its a Trope at all. You end up just being curious on what BB Easton has experienced in life.

Only if you need/want a good laugh

Each story is written with humor and a true to life realism. I wanted to experience this audible first to get a feel for the rest of them. If they are anything like 44 Chapters, I will be giving them away as gifts! I promise you will laugh your ass off!
So happy to have found BB Easton and Ramona Master! I found “STAR” on Audiobook boom. Don’t think I would have purchased this audible without them. Thank you

Super Amazing Story and Narration. Fav Author!

BB Easton has quickly become one of my most favorite authors! I love this series! This series has things I thought I didn't enjoy in books, but BB Easton's writing draws me in. Her words jump off the page and come alive. This series is based off of events that have happened in BB's real life, and I love her take on the events. The way she tells a story; the vulnerability her words project, make you feel as if you were there with BB during some difficult, intense, wonderful, and sublime times. I relate to the time period of the story as I'm of similar age to BB, so I love those aspects that bring me back to my teenage years. Although, I was a lot more mellow than BB! This woman lead a wild life! BB Easton is a one click author for me, and I've absolutely loved every single book she's written so far! Book 2, Skin, is the book I started with, and then I read book 3, Speed, before I got to 44 Chapters. I think 44 Chapters can be read whenever in the series, but the rest of the books should be read in order. After Skin and Speed, I loved Knight and I still do, but after reading 44 chapters, Ken is just too adorable! It's easy to see how BB fell in love with him; even if he's a little difficult ;-) I read Star right after I finished this and will be writing my review for that book next. BTW, It's totally amazing! I listened to the audio book for 44 Chapters, and the narrator is totally amazing! She narrators all of the books in this series so far, and her voice fits BB so well. She makes the listening experience totally engrossing, and she brings the story to life. I'd definitely recommend them! Okay, I'm going to go gush some more in my review for Star!
