Nobody wakes up one day and decides they want to have an eating disorder. And eating disorders are certainly not about getting attention or vanity. It is not a “lifestyle” or “choice” you make. Depression and/or anxiety often coexist with an eating disorder, making it all the more problematic. Experts believe those who suffer with eating disorders have a chemical imbalance in their brain with a lack of serotonin.
Affirmations play a very important role in healing and recovering from an eating disorder, no matter if it is anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, or any mixture of the three. Positive Affirmations are used to increase your awareness of your positive attributes and reinforce your confidence.
The affirmations in this book are sectioned into categories we all struggle with, sorted by relevance: body image, confidence, food, forgiveness, the future, love, self-care, self-control, self-image, strength and courage, and respect.
