The book leads the reader through Scripture passages about mercy, and how the Bible defines it as essential to the Christian: both to receive mercy from Christ and to extend mercy to others. For mercy is too often overlooked in Christian Fundamentalism, cast aside in favor of externalized "standards." But the Bible shows us that mercy is closely tied to humility before God. We need mercy, and mercy is required in our actions by Christ as evidence of our conversion; whereas the "standards" of Christian Fundamentalism are either never mentioned or just barely acknowledged in Scripture. Victims of legalistic teachings will find relief and freedom in the truths laid out in this small book.
