Will she live to see her 21st birthday?
When a distraught mother pleads with reporter Cindy Thomas to investigate the disappearance of her daughter, Tara, and her baby granddaughter, Cindy goes straight to SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer.
The prime suspect is Tara's husband, but he tells a conflicting story that paints Tara as a wayward wife, not a missing person.
Is this a tragic case of domestic violence? Or is the truth linked to a more complex network of killings?
As the case grows into something far bigger than any of them could have imagined, the Women's Murder Club will need to work together to unpick the truth from a web of lies.

Cindy needs to go
Cindy is becoming more and more unlikeable. I’m not sure why any of her friends put up with her. She is self serving and fame hungry. Strikes a sour note.

My own fault!
I gave up on James Patterson some time ago, given that the books became so much alike and then when he introduced new writers. Where the books used to be exciting, and something you really looked forward to, the release of the next book in the series (of which I’ve read, and more recently listened, to them all) they became similar to an assembly line knowing that fans would just buy them. I got sucked into this and in fact read the next two as well, you just keep wishing for a return to the original form. It’s not coming! I really am done now.

It’s okay
Read this because I’ve read all the rest, it’s okay, no major gripping suspense parts that meant I could put it down from time to time, a couple of inside jokes if you are an avid fan, overall okay but they have written more gripping books. Doesn’t put me off the authors or storylines just doesn’t make me want to read it again.
The narrator was great, and captured the inflections and voice changes well.

Average
I really loved James Patterson but the books have become predictable. Lindsay's family life is sickly perfect and the characters have become annoying. The author tries to keep things on a knife edge by saying things like 'will things ever be the same?' What will happen when ... shame I used to love them but don't think I will bother with any more, there are too many good, intricate, exciting and twisty crime thriller writers around

Brilliant
Loved the book as much as the 20 before it.
Hated the way Cindy's voice was played out by the narrator. Soooo squeaky.

More of the same - very enjoyable
This book and it’s performance are satisfyingly similar to its predecessors. No real need to put your thinking cap on as without you’ll be simply entertained by a well delivered performance of a typical whodunnit…

Not the best murder club book
Having read all of the series and enjoying them all, I found this one just a bit boring. I felt that Patterson had just kind of ran out of things to say. I hope 22 is better

Worst of the series
Very repetitive worst of the series felt like it ran out of steam in the middle and rushed at the end. Such a shame

Weak
The storyline had potential but failed miserably!! The women came across as stupid & weak!! I also think there were flaws especially in the court room! Which just annoyed me!! I also felt the writing was simple, and this is coming from somebody who is dyslexic!! Overall very disappointing!!

Interesting story but didn’t like the ending
This was a good story well read with familiar characters but the ending felt so rushed and for me was unsatisfactory.
