the basics

for anyone who would like to do spin wkouts on their own: this is a basic BEGINNERS wkout, just the bare necessities... the first ten minutes are spent introducing you to the bike; the last ten minutes are spent doing simple stretches on the bike. again, this is just the basics: spin 101.

Work It Out

I just purchased the audio and I am so happy with it. The gym I attend has a cycling class and I can never get in. They are always...overbooked. Now, I can have my own class. ;)

pretty good

I haven't been spinning in a couple of years and bought a spin bike for home. This download was a great starter for me. Now 2 weeks into it I'm ready for more - but it is well worth the $'s to get started.

The first 7 minutes is general infomation about positioning and technique. There is 21 minutes of spinning and the last 7 minutes is a nice cool down. I do wish there was a moment to rest between songs during the 21 minute ride, he goes from one routine, right into the next - I've had to stop my player and take 30 seconds to get a sip of water and regroup. I assume he had to do that to call it a 20 minute ride.

Good work out

This is a good 20 minute workout for those who don't have time to get out cycling.

So good!

The best 20 minute workout on audible hands down!! I've had this since the early 2000's and it's my go to for quick fitness.

As a newbie, I loved this format

I hooked my bike up into an indoor trainer and downloaded this. I'm not a fan of spinning but this, I can do. I was dripping sweat fifteen minutes into it. I hope to find other audio trainers once I conquer this one.

Excellent but....

This is a fabulous workout. It really gets my heart rate up and me sweating which is exactly what I want, however....I have to go through a 6-8 minute (I haven't timed it exactly, but believe me, it is LONG) opening dialog! You can't skip through it once you have heard it, so you have to suffer though the into over and over. Re-do this so that the descriptive intro can be skipped over quickly and I will rate this a 5.

Pretty amazing for beginners, especially for the $

Any additional comments?

This is a great beginning spin workout. I have a spin bike, but have not taken spinning classes. I was hesitant to purchase a spin DVD, as the only ones I could find were around $25 each. I had been using my bike with interval music, but this audiobook is wonderful! Matthew explains proper bike fit and hand positions, and then puts you through a great workout. Of course you can change the difficulty by changing the tension. The only improvement I would have liked is if the beat of the music increased when you increase your leg speed, but it's not a big deal. This is wonderful, especially since it's so inexpensive!
