Not the best choice of narrators

I have read these books and listened to the original recordings which I loved. Cassandra Campbell was great. Maureen Jones doesn't portray the characters as having Southern accents and her pronunciation of the word garage is terrible. I never realized how many times the word occurred until I heard her recording. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard ! I don't know where she's from, but they should have chosen someone from the south to narrate these new recordings

cute. fun

I have a question, does anyone else flinch when she says "garage"? is narrator Canadian?

Hate the change of reader

I like the series but I really hate the change of reader. If the main character is southern girl from Atlanta she would pronounce about as A boat or garage as garreage. It was aggregating and detracted from the flow of the book.

Fun Series!

What made the experience of listening to 2 Bodies for the Price of 1 the most enjoyable?

I really enjoy this series. Fun and light chick lit with characters you really care about. I was glad to see that Audible was able to provide the remainder of the series after first listening to #1 a year or so ago andand by now I'm too spoiled to actually read to myself if it's unrelated to work. Audible all the way!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Wesley, because he's very interesting and compelling.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

No. The narration has been a disappointment to me in the series. As someone born in Texas and raised in Virginia, I find the Canadian pronunciation of words distracting to a story set in Georgia. I think I would enjoy this narrator for other stories, but not one set in southern states. Each time I heard words like garage and been, it took me out of the story for a spell.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I'm currently on the 5th in the series, so my reaction was I didn't want to stop listening ☺

Great Story, but that Narrator

I enjoyed the story, but the narrator's pronunciation of certain words are like nails on a chalkboard. I would love to know who thought it'd be a great idea to use a canadian to narrate a setting in ATL Georgia?! The way she pronounces sorry, been, and garage is irrating and distracting!!

Worst narration ever!

The story is set in Atlanta it is clear the narrator is Canadian. She also read characters like they were surfer dudes. The added lisp in some of the characters was totally unnecessary. I like the story and series, but listening was awful.

Fell asleep several times. The Characters behaviors, feelings , and actions make no sense.

Canadian narrator?

A book set in Atlanta should have a southern-accented narrator or at least one who pronounces words in American English.

NOT a “Southern” narration.

While the audio narrator was animated it was irritating to me that she sounded Canadian and certainly not the least bit Southern. It was distracting throughout the book.
