Publisher's summary

Contains books three and four of The Stasis Stories.

Radiation Hazard, book three

Kaem and company are commercially developing “stade”, a piece of space-time that’s in stasis. Its phenomenal properties allow it to reflect all radiation, so when a nearby nuclear reactor undergoes a meltdown, the first thought is that stade might be used to limit the radioactivity from the accident. It soon becomes obvious that it's the perfect material for dealing with radioactive waste, and interest piques to use it to remediate a toxic chemical dump.

Meanwhile, it's still being used to build rocket engines...and plans are in the mix for a space elevator!

Halting the Reaper, book four

Kaem has been treated with gene therapy for the anemias that have made him so weak. In combination with his extraordinary memory, his newfound physical fitness is letting him perform at a high level in a karate class.

Meanwhile, the company that he, Arya Vaii, and Gunnar Schmidt founded to commercially develop his time-stopping discovery is starting to make money. Currently, their profits come from the use of the phenomenal physical properties of a time-stopped segment of space-time to build rockets. But now, people are clamoring to use Kaem’s invention to stop time for those who are dying; not just people waiting for a cure, but also hospital patients in critical condition.

Oh, and they’re still working on their plans for a space elevator....

A diamond of a find!

Great stories! It did cover some racial issues, as other reviews pointed out, but it did so in a tactful way. This is worth a read.

This story just HAS to keep going on!

So interesting I struggle to put it down and the science takes me into a plausible and better future!
Best story concept I've found in years and nicely executed. Great narration too!

fun story

I found this searching for hard sci-fi. the idea behind the plot was good and even though I didn't like one of the characters the story was interesting and made me want to keep listening straight through all of them.

The engineering aspect was insane loved it

I live in the area where this takes place. The concept and referred science peaked my inner nerd. I felt the inequality and assumptions were very over the top and took away from the story a little. It won’t keep me from listening to the series though.

Really fun Sci-Fi

Laurence 's stories always have a point to make and usually several. These two books in this publisher pack confirm this for me.
Again so much so that that I have purchased all seven Audibles and their Kindle matching stories.
These stories are written and produced for teen and late teens and in my case adults.
Andre Blake again a superb job on narrating These stories. No confusion on character's voices, just a great voice to listen to.
As for myself again a solid five stars.

Great continuation

Really well thought-out continuation of the first two books. I don't know why some people are complaining it's too "woke". Prejudice comes up a couple times in situations where it makes sense, but it's usually as much or more attributed to classism and ageism as it is racism. Methinks thou dost protest too much.

Happy go lucky

Very easygoing storry and easy to follow.
Sometimes it feels like it was written by/for a teenager in a good way though.
Will continue

Good story building but slow

I liked the characters and their cause. Very good use of real and fictional scientific ideas.
