Publisher's summary

From the award-winning author of Sentinels of Creation comes a near-future science-fiction series that promises to thrill fans of the Expanse, Bladerunner, and Ready Player One. Paradigm 2045: Trinity's Children serves up an adventurous bounty of first contact, genetic engineering, and artificial intelligence while providing a reverential nod to golden age masters such as Robert A. Heinlein and Larry Niven.

In 2004, Doctor Damien Howard's 131st birthday celebration took an unexpected turn. His personal SETI project detected an extraterrestrial signal directed at Earth.

Unfortunately, Dr. Howard's long-hoped-for communication contained a message of dire warning rather than greeting. In 1945, humanity had become a species of galactic interest and was given 100 years to address the issue.

Now in 2045, only months remain before humanity's grace period expires and the world mourns the passing of a titan. Damien Howard lies dead. Only his security officer, Misha Sokolov and artificially intelligent Agent Coleman are aware of Earth's impending deadline.

Meanwhile, in Nairobi, Kenya, Charlotte Omandi prepares to address luminaries gathered for her keynote presentation at the Omandi Institute. Her life changes forever when Damien Howard reaches out to her from beyond the grave. She is the first born of Howard’s Children, nine genetically enhanced humans who hold the key to Earth’s salvation.

Charlotte must assemble a crew capable of demonstrating both faster-than-light travel and the wisdom required to join a galactic community. As humanity's leaders become aware of the impending threat, massive forces attempt to impede Omandi and her nascent crew.

Despite Damien's gifts of wealth, technology, and genetic superiority, his children face daunting challenges as they race against an Armageddon clock set to strike on July 16, 2045. By that day, humanity will either shift its paradigm or perish.

Great Book.

I am here because of Sentinels of Creation. Not big on reading or listening to most sci-fi cause they can get to stuck in the science and lack the imagination of Fantasy. This did not disappoint me. I love the Star Trek feel and loved the development of the characters. I can't wait to listen to the rest.

Love! True space opera!

I write few reviews usually expressing my support with star ratings only. This one prompted me to write because I enjoyed it so much I listened to it twice back to back. I enjoyed the story, world building, and character development. Of course Nick Podehl is always excellent, too. As an avid ‘listener’ with more than 900 books in my library I’m always looking for something new and entertaining in sci-fi and fantasy. Thank goodness for the daily deal, or I may not have discovered Robert Ross — clearly Audibles recommendations are lacking. The characters and story made me laugh out loud and plot moved along at a nice clip. Enjoyed the surprise of the author’s notes at the end so much I decided to become a patron 😊 for the first time! Well done Robert keep up the great work and I’m looking forward to the next book.

Great read!

This presentation is a great production. The story keeps you involved throughout the entire book. The Science fiction opera (that's what it's called) makes the experience completely entirely entertaining. I will try this experience again

Exhilarating Startn

A fantastic start to a new series! I picked this up after it was mentioned in the author's notes of the last Sentinels of Creation book, and I'm so glad that I did. I loves some of the tongue in cheek Easter egg references to the Sentinels series. the only thing that has me disappointed is that I have to wait for the next installments of two amazing series now. Highly recommend.

A true dance of Sci-fi, faith and bourbon

Robert Ross writes sci-fi well, very well. I was overly impressed with his knowledge of and projection of what science is and what could be in years to come.

Great character development. Great overall story. Paradigm 2045 leaves you drooling for the next book yet satisfies the conflicts of book one without pissing you off with a major cliffhanger.

Nick Podehl blew my mind with his ability to be Asian, Russian, Indian, Kenyan, young, old, and Irish all in the same conversation. On numerous occasions I failed to remember I was listening to one person. Bravo.
