Publisher's summary

A supernatural healer threatened by a deadly stalker. An alluring bodyguard she can't resist. And his secret that will shatter her entire world.

People on the brink of death come to me for life. I touch them, and my magic burns away their sickness. My gift is exhausting and painful, even dangerous. Which means I never intentionally touch anyone, and no one touches me.

So dating? Definitely not happening.

All of that changes when a cyber stalker threatens to burn me at the stake. I reluctantly hire a bodyguard, a six-foot-three mountain of temptation named Logan Smith, literally at my fingertips at all times. Every fiber of my 21-year-old virgin body vibrates for him, but when I accidentally touch him, my gift doesn't activate. Nothing happens except a zing of desire. My mother told me about potential mates, but I'm Logan's employer.

But when the stalker crosses a line, Logan reveals a side of himself he kept hidden. He's not who he claimed to be. And his secret not only shatters my entire world but threatens everything I once believed.

Contains mature themes.

Enjoyable Read

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were relatable and the story held my interest. I need to get the next book and see where this goes.

CLIFFHANGER!

The story was good! But it ENDED... with waaaaay too much unresolved! who is Crystal?? his betrothed?? It could have been a lot better with a different narrator.

All drama was lost with the seemingly monotone narrator. The different voices were good, but every sentence ended on the same downturn of tone! She needs to take some lessons on reading dramatically versus just reading aloud.

It.. was okay...

The actual storyline was okay, a little unique... However, the chapter transitions and some random pauses in mid chapter were rough.

The narrator was not my favorite, difficult to listen too at times.

I honestly don't think I'll purchase book 2+. I might try reading book 2 free on Kindle... at least then I'll be able to gauge if it was the awkwardness and choppy-ness of the story that caused the narration to sound off...

I was also disappointed at the end between the interaction and the character development of Logan. the way he spoke to the MC... I felt it lacked depth and charisma.. idk..

Sorry for the low rating but not sorry.

The narrator sounded like Siri. The plot was simplistic and not believable. The heroine was irritating with her but why’s when it was explicitly explained. The body guard was not prepared for his job. He should’ve been informed of who he was working for. On a whole this book annoyed me. I think I should steer clear of romance all together if this is the caliber of story for the genre.

Immature Heroine & Bad Writing

Because of the terrible writing I thought this might be a debut novel, but that's not the case. It's awkward, badly paced, and full of redundancies. The heroine is TSTL. Her narration is childish and she blindly puts herself in dangerous situations. And what's with the fascination with her own breasts/nipples???? You could play a drinking game based on the number of times she mentions them.

Her supernatural gift is interesting. It's too bad the author treated it so badly. And I understand about teasing the reader so they want to move on to the next book in the series. But that was not the case here, it was almost as if the author left us with a cliffhanger.

I was also not a big fan of the narrator. The cadence of her speech made the heroine sound even more like a young teenager.

Teenager audience only...very amature.

This was the most painful listen yet since I have started using audiable. The story is amature and the narration was torture.

Very disappointed.

Felt like I was listening to a robot read this book. Might definitely have been better with a different narrator.
