But unknown to the ape-man, they have plans for him - by the advanced science of the little people, Tarzan is shrunk to their size and set to work as a quarry slave.

TARZAN ISN'T WHAT HE USED TO BE!

Never having read a TARZAN book, I was in for a huge surprise! Forget the popular TARZAN films of the 30's & 40's! By this tenth book in the TARZAN Series, one would assume that he and Lady Greystoke have been married over two decades, as his grown-up Son & Daughter In Law, come to visit him in a Bi-Plane. TARZAN to my utter surprise jumps into a BI-Plane and leaves for an epic adventure! He finds a hidden land filled with what appear to be near passive Neanderthal Males, ruled by Amazon women! Further he encounters the titular ANT-MEN. Yet this society of 18 inch tall, highly trained Spartan like homo sapien pygmies warriors. This book would appear to be closely inspired by Swift's "Gullivers Travels"!

The readers performance is excellent and the additional material is an added bonus. The only problem is the number of odd names of people, places, and things.

Note: Mr. Burroughs 1923 "TARZAN AND THE ANT MEN" is perhaps the perfect book to be made into a modern motion picture with the CGI and AI available to the audio visual medium of today.

Story is Meh. The performance is great.

This story is so dated that it is Meh. But, once again, Ben Dooley delivers an excellent reader’s performance.
