No truer words have ever being spoken. Society tells everyone to be "nice and kind". The paradox, however, lies in the belief of these adults who were taught this as they grew up. Nice people are often the ones who are feeble. nonassertive, pushovers, and taken advantage of for their niceness. People think that the world will be nicer to them if they are nice. They are wrong.
People aren't hesitant to exploit this niceness, and this results in pent-up frustration in the minds of all the nice guys because it is in conflict with their worldview. Why isn't the universe being nice to them? They aren't doing anything wrong to anyone else, and yet others don't shy away from hurting them. If you can relate to any of this, you need to change!
You need to become more assertive in your life, and start putting yourself out there. Let others know that you aren't the same beta "nice guy" who'll not stand up for himself and continue to endure whatever they are putting yourself through. You are a changed man who is kind to the world, and himself. You respect yourself enough to stand up for yourself and not get pushed around by others. You are nice to those who you want to be nice to, not because of your belief in the beta mindset that the "world will be good to you if you're nice". Overall good!
This audio is in list format, that is then divided into related chapters . I think the advice listed serves as good reminders and sometimes I listen to it while I sleep.
Wouldn’t recommend listening to this auidobook while in the car with anyone. Some jokes have cursing and sexual implications in the authors tone. Many are funny. Just saying this is not a shared car ride kind of audiobook lol.
My only negative remark is that this audio can get a bit repetitive at times. Maybe some things are reworded and I’m pretty confident a few things were just down right repeated.
Overall good listen.
