Publisher's summary

For billions of people, having a religious belief system provides purpose in life. For some, religion serves as a guide for moral behavior. Today’s world is one in which our understanding of world religions is both understatedly important, as well as increasingly complex.

After many years exploring the foundations of various world religions, Jason Boyett has written this comprehensive, easy-to-understand exploration of the 12 major world religions through a meticulous, yet unbiased lens. 12 Major World Religions offers an impartial look at where each of these belief systems intersects, how they differ, and why some have been - or are currently - misunderstood.

Difficult listen

It may be that this is a difficult subject to learn about simply by listening. I feel like I need a better visual picture to really help me understand all the differences & timing as it relates to each religion.

Oddly written

The author seems to attribute many historical travesties throughout history to Christianity
But goes to great lengths to ensure readers that Islam is misunderstood and misrepresented. The other religions are rarely if at all traced back to any historical misconduct.

Informative, but with poor production values

I enjoyed learning about the world's religions, especially about the lesser known ones like Baha'i and Zoroastrianism. However, the audio would be cut off every time the narrator would begin a new section heading, as if the production engineer hit the 'record' button after the narrator started speaking. And for ease of review, I would have liked it if instead of listing the chapters just as Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc., whoever made this audio book could have listed each religion as its own chapter. Other than those two quibbles, a fine product.

Books need to be numbered and titled.

Books need to be titled and numbered correctly
It is hard to navigate in the book without chapter numbers and titles

Buy this only if you’re a staunch believer

I wanted to return this book within the first 15 minutes of listening to it. Unfortunately this platform does not allow “returns”. The few minutes of sample reading do not give you the real gist of this read.
