Publisher's summary

Eleven. For three long years that’s what she was called by The Collector, the sexual sadist who enslaved her.

Mia Deleon fought the odds and escaped only to discover that no one would believe her about the ordeal she’d endured. Not the police. Not her family or friends. Even the investigators she hired couldn’t find a trace of the sexual predator. So with help she disappeared, always looking over her shoulder, living in the shadows. Knowing she’d never be safe while he was still free.

Security expert Jude Bishop had helped her vanish. Now he’s been hired to bring Mia back. A criminal profiler may have discovered a tenuous link to her case. But Jude is nearly too late because The Collector has already found Mia, too. And their race to trail the sexual sadist turned killer brings Mia ever closer to the man obsessed with her.

Because she became his prized possession the moment she’d evaded him. And he’ll stop at nothing to see his collection finally complete…

Pretty good book

I love Kylie Brant books. I thought this one was pretty good but not my favorite. It could be me and I'm just not feeling it right now. She writes such good stories I'm not sure why I wasn't as into this one but it was still good. Give it a try.

11 — GREAT SUSPENSE & PLOT TWISTS!

I have read ALL of the Mind Hunter books (twice) and didn’t think I’d enjoy books that weren’t part of the Mind Hunter series nearly as much. I was happily surprised to find Adam Raiker had a small part in this book as well.😘

This story really grabbed me from the very beginning and refused to let go! The bad guy in this story was REALLY BAD! (You gotta love a good bad guy)! This one was totally despicable!

Mia, the main female character was fierce and brave (except when it came to her own emotions). Jude, her knight in shining armor is tough (which
made it a little hard for me to believe that he fell for Mia so hard, so fast). They DO have share some common factors that have led to each of them both feeling shut down, cut off
from others, and this binds them together and helps them understand the other in ways no one else is able, so this makes their attraction to the other more believable.

There is lots of suspenseful adventure that takes the reader from Vietnam in the beginning to Nebraska in the end — there’s never a dull moment!

My only complaint is the narrator really didn’t do anything for me. Her voice just didn’t sound like the character Mia would sound (in my mind anyway). There was too little inflection and not enough emotion; she just felt rather “flat” throughout the book, which took away from the story for me. It’s a SHAME that Bronson Pinchot did not narrate this book as he had all the Mind Hunter books — as a narrator, that man has some SERIOUS talent!

Thank you Ms. Brant for many enjoyable listening hours — i HOPE you are hard at work on your NEXT thrilling novel!

Scary concept...

Unfortunately this book loosely parallels our society today. Although I have not heard of anyone kidnapping 13 women. This story reminds me of Cleveland's Ariel Castro who kidnapped and tortured 3 young women for 11 years.
Brant's antagonist, for reasons of his own warped mind wants 13 perfect women. They are all for him and he abuses them relentlessly. Mia is #11. After three years being held captive, she escaped.
Mia hires a protection agency who is able to supply her with false identification. Of course the wacko is still in pursuit. The man who owns the agency had been severely abused as a child. There's a connection. Some romance, thankfully it's kept to a minimum!
Certainly held my attention.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
