Story
The Theory of Psychoanalysis comprises Carl Jung’s 1912 lectures at Fordham University, that outlined the future of his work in psychoanalysis, and represented a decisive break from the theories of his friend and colleague, Sigmund Freud. In these lectures, he develops his own theories of psychology based on his practical experience. He first looks at infantile sexuality, the conception of libido, and the etiological significance of the infantile sexuality. In chapters five to seven, he discusses the unconscious and its contents in detail, including the dream.

The Origins and History of Consciousness draws on a full range of world mythology to show how individual consciousness undergoes the same archetypal stages of development as human consciousness as a whole. Erich Neumann was one of C. G. Jung's most creative students and a renowned practitioner of analytical psychology in his own right. In this influential book, Neumann shows how the stages begin and end with the symbol of the Uroboros, the tail-eating serpent.

Story
Published first in 1912, Psychology of the Unconscious was one of the most important stepping stones in the development of Jung’s thought and practice. It has a long subtitle: A Study of the Transformations and Symbolisms of the Libido. A Contribution to the History of the Evolution of Thought. This expressed the underlying impetus - a break from the view of the libido and its functions as taught by Sigmund Freud, which Jung had earlier adopted. It was from this point that the two approaches, which came to be known as the Swiss and Viennese schools, emerged.

Story
In symbolic terms, the archetype of the father is responsible for the child’s dynamic movement. The father becomes associated with action, activity, consciousness and independence, in order to break free of the symbiotic collective of the mother-child duo, and later the collective of society. The archetype of the great father represents the realm of light and spirit. A sound balance of the mother and the father, and their representations, is thus required to maintain the continuity of life. When this balance is lost, all aspects of life turn to the negative.

Baruch Spinoza was one of the most important and controversial thinkers of the 17th century. He rejected both the mind-body dualism of Descartes and traditional religious views, which got him violently attacked for atheism while he was actually seeking to redefine God as the whole of the laws of Nature. His metaphysics are a brilliant attempt to reconcile human freedom with a belief in scientific explanation, and his Theological-Political Treatise, the first argument for democracy by a major philosopher, contributed as much as the Declaration of Independence or Thomas Paine's Common Sense to modern liberal, secular, and democratic thinking.

Gautama Buddha is also known as Siddharta Gautama, or simply the Buddha, which means "Awakened" or "Enlightened". Born a prince, he chose a path of ascetism only to realize that it was as profound an illusion as self-indulgence. He achieved Enlightenment after 49 days of meditation; his awakening led him to discover the cause of suffering and the ways to eliminate it. These discoveries founded Buddhism, and his "Four Noble Truths" still form the heart of its teachings.

In late 1913, Carl Jung set out on an exploration of his psyche, a quest he called his "confrontation with the unconscious". In doing so, he would enter an imaginative state of consciousness and experience visions, a process that continued with varying intensity for the next 10 years. Along the way, he began drafting the manuscript of his legendary Red Book. The Seven Sermons to the Dead, or "Septem Sermones ad Mortuos", is the only portion of the Red Book manuscript that Jung shared during his lifetime.

Publisher's summary
Carl Jung was one of the first and most widely read writers of the twentieth century on the psychology of the human mind. He worked with Sigmund Freud, with whom he shared a fascination for the unconscious, but the irreconcilable differences of their practice eventually led them to part ways. Jung regarded the unconscious and its symbolic content as crucial to our psychological development; among the central concepts of analytical psychology is individuation, which is the lifelong psychological process of differentiation of the self. Jung considered it to be the main task looming over every human being in their development, and experimented with a variety of practices to dive always deeper into it.
These 100 quotes have been carefully selected to introduce you to his character and his way of thinking, and to inspire you into making your own discoveries about the unconscious.

Words. We use them all the time, every day, mostly without giving them much thought at all. We take for granted that they’re here at our disposal whenever we need them. But if you’ve ever wished you could communicate more effectively, words are the place to start. It’s incumbent upon you to choose the best words to accomplish your goals, because how you choose to communicate influences—well, everything! The power of communication shapes our professional goals, our relationships, and our lives—so the words we choose to use carry a great deal of power.

In How to Release Anxiety, Gabby Bernstein offers simple, actionable steps for feeling better, living with more ease, and showing up for those around us. Gabby’s unusual advice: Rather than manage your anxiety, what if you befriended it? Gabby posits that what we befriend, we can ultimately be at ease with. So she invites us to get curious.

Story
These days, no one in America feels immune to violence. But now, in this extraordinary, groundbreaking book, the nation's leading expert on predicting violent behavior unlocks the puzzle of human violence and shows that, like every creature on earth, we have within us the ability to predict the harm others might do us and get out of its way. Contrary to popular myth, human violence almost always has a discernible motive and is preceded by clear warning signs.

Story
Models is the first book ever written on seduction as an emotional process rather than a logical one, a process of connecting with women rather than impressing them. It's the most mature and honest guide on how a man can attract women without faking behavior, without lying and without emulating others. A game-changer.

Listened to it all in one sitting
Would like to listen to it again, and again, and again. His views make a lot of sense. They are a wonderful guide for life. Enlightening and very encouraging. To bad he was so ill used in his life that he had to run away to an island to feel safe. Very appropriate for our world situation today.

Thought provoking. Mentor. Concise. Simple. Deep.
This book is a great teacher. It gives seeds to examine oneself. It's definitely a good buy.
PS a few words are unclear because of volume of accent or speed. But only a few words.

Meditation instrument
This production is so well done. Bite sized quotes by Carl Jung that are so profound, opens your mind and helps it expand and journey.
Read well, with tactfully accompanied soft instrumentals.

Great content; nerdy form
The content of Jungs' messages are substantial enough to withstand the nerd-ness of the reader's voice. Thank you for leaving the music it minimal and far behind in it's dynamic level so as not to upstage the words read.
