Bit of a hassle but mostly worth it

Not the tight productions that you normally hear on Audible. Lots of background noise and old school narration. Wuthering Heights for instance reminds you at every chapter that you are listening to Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Listen to that 39 times and it might get on your nerves a bit.....

The collection downloads into 9 parts, but is not indexed so you can't just queue up the story you want. Or easily bypass tedious books that never, never ever end "Crime and Punishment" . Actually I did listen in its entirety but it was pretty tough.

My favorites were:

White Fang [Jack London ],
The Return of Sherlock Holmes [Arthur Conan Doyle],
The strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde [Robert Louis Stevenson],
A Christmas Carol [Charles Dickens],
The jungle book [Rudyard Kipling].

Not my cup of tea, but still glad I listened:

Tess of the d'Urbervilles [Thomas Hardy]
The Call of Cthulhu [H.P Lovecraft],
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court [Mark Twain], - {own this already and never could got through it, skipped it}
Crime and Punishment [Fyodor Dostoyevsky],
Wuthering Heights [Emily Brontë],

Might try another some day as there appear to be 5 or so of these masterpiece collections. But for now I think I'll hit up a nice new Sci-Fi book.

Tricky but Good

Due to stories being out of copyright some of the performances are a little flat but the stories are of course classics and for 87p, you can’t go wrong. Get involved just be ready to concentrate!
