【2022年 ドラマ化作品】
ある夜、勤務先の会議室で目醒めた土屋徹生は、帰宅後、妻から「あなたは３年前に死んだはず」と告げられる。死因は「自殺」。家族はそのため心に深い傷を負っていた。しかし、息子が生まれ、仕事も順調だった当時、自殺する理由などない徹生は、殺されたのではと疑う。そして浮かび上がる犯人の記憶……。

幸福の追求それ自体の不幸という『決壊』以来の主題が、「復生者」の一人である主人公を通して、理知的に、感情的に描かれている。人はなぜ、自殺するのか？という根源的な問いへの分人主義的なアプローチが多方面で議論された。最終章の家族の姿には、第３期を締め括るに相応しい深い感動がある。
