<第六回 動乱のさなかに>
至徳2年(757)、杜甫46歳の春。杜甫はまだ軟禁中の身であり、鄜州の家族ともなかなか連絡が取れない中、特に次男の驥子(きし=杜宗武の幼名)の身を思いやって五言排律「興を遣(や)る」を作っています。前年6月に別れた時、驥子は数えで四つ(満3歳)でした。
この詩を作った直後の夏4月、杜甫はひそかに長安を脱出、ぶじ鳳翔(ほうしょう)の仮御所にたどりつき、その忠誠に心を打たれた粛宗によって、左拾遺の官を授けられます。が、早くも翌5月、彼は舌禍事件を起こして粛宗の怒りにふれ、休暇を与えられてしまいました。杜甫はそれを機に、鄜州の家族を訪ねるべく、8月1日に鳳翔を発ちました。五言古詩「玉華宮」はその旅の途中、かつて宮殿であった玉華宮を訪れ、そのさびれたさまを嘆いて作ったもの。
そして鄜州の羌村に到着し、1年二ケ月ぶりに家族と再会した感激を詠んだのが、五言古詩「羌村三首」其の一でした。

昭和二十九年、東京生まれ。早稲田大学大学院文学研究科博士課程修了、文学博士。現在、共立女子大学国際学部教授。著書に『中国古典詩歌の手法と言語』(研文出版)『漢詩の歴史』(東方出版)『漢詩の事典』(共著、大修館書店)など。平成十九年、NHKラジオ「古典講読――漢詩」講師、平成二十年より同「漢詩をよむ」講師。
