Story1
Higher intake of ultra-processed foods has been associated with a laundry list of ailments. It makes sense that greater consumption would be associated with more dental cavities, thanks to their sugar, obesity, thanks to their concentration of calories, and an increased risk of high blood pressure, thanks to their salt, which is linked to higher rates of cardiovascular events, like heart attacks and strokes. And, since cardiovascular diseases are our leading killers, it also makes sense that excess intake of ultra-processed foods could lead to increased overall mortality.

Environmental Thought and Ecological Philosophy: Deep Explorations of Humanity’s Relationship with Nature BOOK 3: Nature Has Rights: Environmental Ethics, Deep Ecology, and the Moral Status of the Nonhuman World is a deep and accessible exploration of one of the most urgent philosophical questions of our time: does nature have intrinsic value beyond human use? As ecological crises accelerate across the globe, traditional human centered ethical frameworks are increasingly unable to explain, justify, or prevent widespread environmental harm. This book examines the ethical foundations behind...

Operation Chrome Dome uncovers one of the Cold War’s most astonishing and unsettling secrets: for years, the United States kept nuclear-armed B-52 bombers flying around the clock, ready to launch a retaliatory strike at a moment’s notice. This gripping, factual narrative takes readers inside the hidden world of airborne deterrence—where “peace” was protected by aircraft carrying weapons capable of ending entire cities, and where routine missions depended on perfect discipline, flawless technology, and a constant battle against fatigue, weather, and human error.

What if meaning is not an illusion, but a missing dimension? Modern science describes the world with extraordinary precision, yet it struggles to account for one of the most influential forces shaping human behavior: meaning. Beliefs, intentions, symbols, and narratives guide perception, constrain action, and stabilize shared reality—yet they resist full explanation in terms of space, time, and energy alone.

Is your map of reality incomplete? What if the unexplained isn’t chaos, but a system waiting to be seen? You’ve felt it - the shiver of a premonition, the pull of a forgotten place, a coincidence too sharp to be random. For too long, we’ve dismissed these flickers at the edge of perception as imagination or folklore. But what if they’re something more?

Story0
In 1884, a Victorian schoolmaster named Edwin Abbott published a slim satirical novel about a square living in a two-dimensional world—and accidentally handed humanity one of its most powerful tools for imagining the impossible. *Flatland* was written as social commentary, yet it became the unlikely gateway through which ordinary people could begin to grasp dimensions beyond their own perception. The fourth spatial dimension had lurked in mathematical abstractions for decades, but Abbott made it thinkable. What followed was an explosion of dimensional speculation that infected physics, ...

Story0
What if Bigfoot is not a zoological mystery, but an anthropological one? For more than a century, reports of large, upright, human-like figures have emerged from forests across the world. They appear briefly, avoid contact, leave little evidence, and vanish before certainty can form. Popular culture has treated these accounts as entertainment, folklore, or hoax. Science has largely dismissed them for lack of proof. The Anthropology of Bigfoot takes a different approach. Rather than asking whether Bigfoot can be proven, this book asks whether the question itself has been misunderstood.

Liquefied petroleum gas systems operate under conditions that differ fundamentally from natural gas installations, beginning with on-site pressurized storage and extending through staged regulation, distribution piping, and final delivery. This guide provides a focused technical explanation of how LP gas behaves under pressure, how vaporization occurs within storage tanks, and how temperature and load influence system performance. The material emphasizes the physical realities that govern LP systems rather than abstract theory, creating a practical foundation for understanding propane ...

Story0
For the past 17 years, the author, a PhD in life sciences, has studied the amino acid glycine and its effects on the human body. This research has made clear to him that due to the typical Western diet, virtually all Americans suffer from an insufficient level of glycine, and this has resulted in a misunderstanding by the medical community of the natural function of inflammation as a proper response to injury. Dr Brind has found that bodies in the glycine-deficient state typically develop inappropriate or excessive—and sometimes fatal—inflammation in response to a variety of physical or...

A Life of Coherence is a work of contemporary philosophy exploring how meaning forms in a fragmented modern world—without reducing life to ideology, certainty, or self-help formulas. Drawing from philosophy, psychology, contemplative traditions, and lived experience, Tai Sheridan introduces synthetic thinking: a way of holding complexity without fragmentation. The book examines how coherence forms when certainty is released and wholeness is allowed to remain unfinished. This is not a method to master or a system for improvement. It is an inquiry into how attention, memory, feeling, ...
