Budding physicist Lucas Ramsay was sure his reactor would change history. He was sure everyone would chant his name. Unfortunately for the human race, he was right. When his antigravity experiment succeeds in a way he never imagined, the planet is brought to its knees by an unstoppable force that crosses time and space to systematically exterminate all life on Earth. The survivors have come to settle in the mountains of Wyoming, fighting day in and day out to establish a home for themselves in a near-empty world. Things are good at first; scavenging is a workable, short-term solution that seems to be providing all they need. But they know that it’s only a matter of time before the food runs out. They need to scramble to find a sustainable solution before the clock stops, and for a little handful of people up in the mountains, the odds don’t seem very favorable.

My grandfather was the last person in the world I would have ever expected to hear a story about a personal encounter with Bigfoot. He was a serious man and for him to discuss this ancient & controversial knowledge so openly was astounding. He wasn't mean or abusive, but he had no time for silliness. He never wasted time on unexplained mysteries or folklore. He grew up in an era and in circumstances where silliness was "for women, children, and the mentally insufficient".

Don’t Sweat. Don’t Laugh. Don’t draw attention to yourself. And most of all, whatever you do, do not fall in love with one of them. Gene is different from everyone else around him. He can’t run with lightning speed, sunlight doesn’t hurt him and he doesn’t have an unquenchable lust for blood. Gene is a human, and he knows the rules.
