Hugh d'Ambray, Preceptor of the Iron Dogs, Warlord of the Builder of Towers, served only one man. Now his immortal, nearly omnipotent master has cast him aside. Hugh is a shadow of the warrior he was, but when he learns that the Iron Dogs, soldiers who would follow him anywhere, are being hunted down and murdered, he must make a choice: to fade away or to be the leader he was born to be. Hugh knows he must carve a new place for himself and his people, but they have no money, no shelter, and no food, and the necromancers are coming. Fast.

As Usual, Ilona Andrews delivers on Build up, character development, story lines, plots, action....everything I expect from their books (which happen to be my favorite btw) I think Steve West has a great voice, But I'm so used to these Characters having such bigger personalities, sarcasm, excited, rage, the correct accents for the regions they are from etc... that i feel like it took away from the book. It might just be me, but I had a harder time listening. The book however, is amazing. I will forever purchase and read anything written by Ilona Andrews. I love them!

This book keeps me so intrigued and I can't put it down. I love all of the character development, the small town vibe, and the very unique story Hailey Edwards has created. The narrators voice and accent is so fitting and well done that I think I'll search for some more books she has done. Anxiously awaiting the next in the series!

Tai Randolph thinks inheriting a Confederate-themed gun shop is her biggest headache—until she finds a murdered corpse in her brother’s driveway. Even worse, her supposedly respectable brother begins behaving in decidedly non-innocent ways, like fleeing to the Bahamas and leaving her with both a homicide in her lap and the pointed suspicions of the Atlanta Police Department directed her way. Suddenly, she has to worry about clearing her own name, not just that of her wayward sibling.

Would you try another book from Ditter Kellen and/or Johnny Mack?

Probably Not. I don't think the writing was terrible, I think it is really just my preference on having more action and interaction between love interests.

What could Ditter Kellen have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I think this is more of a personal Preference, But I can't stand when there is instant In love with each other and instant Sex. Don't get me wrong, I like sex in books, But there has to be some build up between characters some banter or interaction or a reason for them liking each other other than they are Hot.

How could the performance have been better?

I think when an accent is mentioned several times, that character should have an accent.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Ember?

The meet and fall in love and f*#@ within minutes part.

Any additional comments?

I received this book for an honest review, and after reading the description I was really looking forward to listening. Unfortunately I think this just ended up not being my Type of book. would be great for somebody who doesn't have the same preferences as me. The writing wasn't bad.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this for a light beach read. With the Title and the cover I was expecting a book with a lot more action and thrilling story, it was more just a very mild but sweet story.

What other book might you compare Highlander Hellcat to and why?

I don't have an answer for this, I don't think I have read anything that is similar

What does Robert Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Robert has a very nice soothing voice, and a Fantastic accent!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There was a couple of small giggles

What made the experience of listening to The Phantom of Faerie Mountain the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed how this book was interesting from the very first page. It didn't have a drag out build up of the world, just jumped right in to strange creatures and events

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the fantasy fae writing and the narration

Which character – as performed by Joshua Young – was your favorite?

Joshua is a great Narrator, he did an excellent job on all of the characters and keeping them distinguishable.

Any additional comments?

I received this book for an honest review. While I usually enjoy more "adult" written books, I'm interested in all things Faerie and Sidhe, so I just had to try it. It was very well written and narrated and would be a great listen for a family or younger audience.

What did you love best about Touched?

I absolutely LOVE the snark, humor, and action. But mostly it's so nice to actually have a book with a real story line, plot, character development, it's non stop entertainment.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

never ending action or witty banter.

What does Amy McFadden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I read this book and was delighted when they added it to audible, although I was nervous ( I am the ultimate narrator snob) Amy was a perfect choice, she is amazing at holding character, accents, and different voices without sounding like an idiot. I would listen to her again in a heartbeat

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

So amazeballs we had to make it into a Movie!!! well, okay, so I"ll never make a career in marketing. But I would watch this movie, for realsies.

Any additional comments?

if you like books like the Kate Daniels series, Charlie Davidson, Iron druid, or Mercy Thompson this book is absolutely for you!
