Comedians Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld never thought anyone would watch their silly little sitcom about a New York comedian sitting around talking to his friends. NBC executives didn't think anyone would watch either, but they bought it anyway, hiding it away in the TV dead zone of summer. But against all odds, viewers began to watch, first a few and then many, until nine years later nearly 40 million Americans were tuning in weekly.

The voice work is fine-other reviewers hated on it, but the narrator is usually just doing a generic Seinfeld or Larry David voice and it's respectable. The behind the scenes stories are good stuff and not just flattering towards the creators, but offer light dirt(or light and dirt) on the show/good explanations of what was happening at the time. The author explains every familiar name on the credits and has stories/explanations of what their stories are. Very entertaining.

There are parts that are definitely sacrilegious and graphically violent, but I’ve been looking for a smart, scary, dark story and I got it. It get real dark. I was sick of books like The Passage and NOS482(wasn’t that bad), which had great reviews, but rip offs of way better books- and not very scary. I liked the cover art and liked it more after reading(listening to) this story.

This book samples from other motivators and does a great job. It’s not a long listen(3-4 hrs), but concise and trimmed nicely with different orators to mix things up and hold my attention.

When NBC decided to move Jay Leno into prime time to make room for Conan O'Brien to host the Tonight show - a job he had been promised five years earlier - skeptics anticipated a train wreck for the ages. It took, in fact, only a few months for the dire predictions to come true. Leno's show, panned by critics, dragged down the ratings - and the profits - of NBC's affiliates, while ratings for Conan's new Tonight show plummeted to the lowest levels in history.

Fifteen million Americans a year are plagued with alcoholism. Five million of them are women. Many of them, like Caroline Knapp, started in their early teens and began to use alcohol as "liquid armor", a way to protect themselves against the difficult realities of life. In this extraordinarily candid and revealing memoir, Knapp offers important insights not only about alcoholism, but about life itself and how we learn to cope with it.
