My name is Lloyd Ledbetter and I am the best lawyer New York criminals can buy. My obsession to detail is their saving grace. I'm focused, determined and one-track minded. Nursing my broken heart for the last few months, I've stayed away from anything that could resemble a relationship. Until Luke Gunner.

I'd truly like to take a peek into these two authors wicked minds! They've mastered their writing relationship down to perfection giving me many happy hours of reading pleasure, laugh out loud and fan-grabbing moments. Black Balled was a was a very special read for me. I have to admit that my four-star rating of the book made me feel a tad ashamed; but then Joel Leslie narrated it and I had no option but to up my rating. Unexpected and much to my delight, Hard Edit was published and once again, I was drawn into the Larson Blackburn and Troy Babilonia's steamy saga. This second book rounded up their story perfectly since I felt that the two protagonists deserved to find what they'd been looking for. I must say that I was never waiting for the spin-off, Guns Blazing. A heart had been broken along the way though, and now I got to hear Lloyd Letterbetter's side of the story. Better said, he's new beginning!
My ooh my! I have no words to describe how much I love listening to Joel's skilful narrations. His ability to fit into each and everyone's personality is nothing less than commendable. However, I wasn't too keen on Lloyd's voice at first which was quite surprising seeing that he'd pulled Larson and Troy's off perfectly in Black Balled. But then Lloyd, an extremely successful criminal solicitor, kinda wiggled his way under my skin and it was him speaking his thoughts out loud to me. He still has a chip on his shoulder and still carrying a heavy heart after his hot sweet affair with Larson. Feeling shunned by 'my man', he can't seem to get it together! There's no doubt he dominates his profession to a T; however, at times, his personal issues seemed to take precedence. In the bedroom . . . hmm, I was really in for a surprise or two and couldn't have been happier to see that he wasn't the man I thought he was!
Lloyd is going to be given a run for his money and make him question a thing or two when the most unlikely individual he has yet to come across strolls into his office. I loved the way the the two of them weighed each other up. And if there were ever two characters I didn't think would hit it off, it's them! Yep, they're as different as chalk and cheese so I asked myself, "Why then is Lloyd even giving Luke Gunner the time of day?" Aah, apart from being attracted to his future client's cocksure and 'mucho-macho' attitude, the man who wants the 'best' in town to defend him has one hell of a challenging problem. Luke's uses his gift to control his business with dodgy undertones also opens Lloyd's appetite. And to top the lot, he needs Luke's expertise to get him out of a tight spot. Is Lloyd's inquisitiveness going to get the better of him? How the heck does he go about dealing with someone who appears to have a twenty-twenty vision, a sublime IQ and for a better word, tickle his fancy?
Luke Gunner made me go weak at the knees with his sexy crooning! What a smooth talking drop-dead gorgeous and convincing hunk of a man he is. Add rippling abs in all the right places was easily envisaged with Joel's narrative expertise. I have to add that a humorous sarcasm makes for an easy 'listening experience'. Thank you so much ladies for giving me the pleasure of listening to Troy and Larson's thoughts, their advice and their gorgeousness. As always in stories written by Andrea and Eva, there's always a hell of a lot of excitement overflowing with innuendos, severely good bellyaching laughter and more important, well-developed plots that make you think what's going to happen next! Ooh yes; I have to mention that there's one scene which was without a doubt, very well received. Told in past tense and with the main character's point of view isn't one of my fave narrative structures. Nonetheless, it worked! BRAVO ladies!

My name is Troy Babilonia, but I'm best known as Babu, a renowned literary critic with my own online column. I'm followed by thousands! I'm a living god in the literary world. I have no filter, and for that my flock of humble followers are forever grateful. If it weren't for me, they wouldn't know what to read. I have zero tolerance for weak-minded attention seekers, nor do I have respect for the self-proclaimed geniuses of the indie world. My advice to all indie authors is to never break the cardinal rule in this cutthroat business. Ever.
Great narration - Interesting story

Balled and Chained to this novel.
Would you listen to Black Balled again? Why?
Absolutely. The authors make a great team and Joel's narrative skills added a totally new perspective to this read.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Black Balled?
This is an unforgettable read with unforgettable characters. I can't say which moment was the most memorable as I loved everything about Black Balled.
Which scene was your favorite?
I wouldn't know where to start as there are far too many good scenes to mention.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did. I laughed out loud, had a little cry and thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book.

Audible narrators literally have the book in their hands. (Pun unintended!) What could be a brilliant read, might easily bore to the core unless it's told correctly. Therefore, intonation and stressing on the correct syllables is an art in itself, especially when the narrator has more than one character to pronounce. So handling this 'art' which I consider to be just as complicated as writing the novel, is for me, a good narrator. If they are going to hold your attention, studying each and every person involved is of utmost importance. In this case, Joel Leslie most certainly did and his outstanding quality of timbre and inflections drove home the authors’ point faultlessly.
Told from alternating points of view, when the story starts to pick up is when we're offered plenty of banter. Not only do innuendos fly left, right and centre, but the commentary also comes alive. I felt like a fly on the wall, and laugh; I nearly cried with some of the protagonists’ thoughts. The contrast between the actual book which by the way, I loved and the audible, is night and day though. The reason? I have to mention the narrator once again. While reading this novel, my voice was heard. Listening to Joel telling Larson Blackburn and Troy Babilonia’s story was such a delight and threw a different light on them. Obviously, I’m familiar with these guys’ traits; however, I seemed to connect to them even more than I did in the book.
Alpha male, Troy, aka Babu, is a big hit and a naughty, naughty man. He has a mouth like a sailor and an insatiable ego quenched to the brim by his followers who he has little respect for in his weekly reviewing column. Goodness gracious me; I’d hate to be on the receiving end of his devilish tongue! I cracked up with him knocking self-publishers and the blogging world in general. Yes, please authors and bloggers, take this with a pinch of salt because all said and done, it’s only a book and a damn good one at that. Never have I met someone with the ability to judge like Babu does. He made my skin cringe while listening to his satire comments.
Therefore, you can imagine how Larson felt when Babu slanders his book. Challenged would be putting it lightly but he has no idea as to whom is behind this dire criticism of his latest release. He wants to defend himself. Who wouldn’t under these circumstances? This is basically the foundation of the story which will take you on a helter skelter ride and a half. I have to mention that this is an extremely hot M/M read that leaves absolutely nothing and everything to the imagination. And I flipping well loved it!
Tender moments broke my heart and a tear or two fell. Complications set in, one of their pasts won’t help matters and they’ll have to work hard to reach a status quo. Troy’s a delicate soul and not to be trodden on. Will Babu have enough sensibility to ease him come out of his shell; convince him and show him who he really is? And Lloyd. Deary me, what will happen to this lovely man and how will he deal with his feelings?
You’ll only find out by listening to this marvellous book which actually has a follow up and is now available. Black Balled can be read as a standalone and I still have to read Guns Blazing. A little dicky bird told me that just maybe Joel will be narrating it. Keeping my fingers crossed that this’ll be in effect, true. To the authors from a very frustrated writer lol, this chucklesome and epic read made my day. I’d had my say regarding the eBook, but this offering is without any doubt, the bee’s knees. Bravo to you both for distracting me from the humdrum chores of everyday life with this marvellous Audible.
