The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

In this stunning new book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

Really enjoyed Ryan Holidays stories and lessons from history's greatest thinkers and philosophers. There's so much practical wisdom in this audio and I like the way it's simple yet effective message gets across. Mainly it's don't sweat the small stuff and it's all the small stuff but with a twist that makes you feel like hey I can actually be right with myself and kick ass. I liked the narration and would highly recommend this to you if you're at all interested in philosophy.

No matter where nature has placed him - the club rooms of Brooklyn, the Mafia dives of New York's Lower East Side, the wilds of Alaska, or the hills of Hollywood - he has found a way to put on a show and sell tickets at the door.

And just how do we manage those situations that can provoke even the most rational among us into behaving in ways we would rather forget?
