Tatijana of the Dragonseekers spent centuries encased in ice with her sister, trapped in limbo between life and death, never speaking to a soul other than those who tormented her. Now, she has been freed from her frozen prison by an unknown descendent. Awakened in human form, Tatijana yearns to explore the modern world in which she now lives - a world with more mysteries than she is prepared for. Just loved this installment to the Carpathian grand plot. Spectacular characters with the addition of the Lycon race. MUCH MORE GORY! WOLVES are vicious and tear flesh. Loved how so many previous characters are woven into the story. The narrator was weird with his voices. Sometimes his monotone reading devoid of infliction was comical when it was meant to be dramatic but i was able to get past it more easily than i have with some others. Found the fight scenes to be uncomfortable to listen to because Carpathians were "ripped to shreds" by packs of wolves. A stark contrast to the sweet chivalrous romance between the H/h which i adored!

Mysterious, elusive and seemingly impossible to kill, she is the one hunter who strikes terror into the hearts of the undead. She is Ivory Malinov. Her only brethren, the wolves. Manolito De La Cruz knew he was dangerously close to turning into a vampire. The last thing he expected after being called back to his Carpathian homeland by Prince Mikhail was to catch the scent of his destined lifemate in MaryAnn Delaney. MaryAnn is human, but she knows all too well the overwhelmingly aggressive instincts of Carpathian males.

I didn't like the narration at all. Usually these two narrators have great chemistry but it sounded like the Muppets were reading smug novels. I love the sensuality of the dark books but i actually rolled my eyes and said "oh brother!" whenever Phil said cock with that ridiculous voice. The voices and accents did not match my perception of 2 majestic supernatural beings. MaryAnn was presented as carrie bradshaw meets mary tyler moore when she should have been jacklyn smith from charlies angels. I don't know what Phil was doing with manalito's character. He sounded like Kermit the frog doing Shakespeare. Yuck. But you gotta read this installment to learn more about the series plot so maybe skip listening to this one and read a hard copy.
