This book begins with a lot of back and forth, so for me it was a little hard in the beginning to make out who the characters were. Once the momentum picked up, I could not wait to see who was thinking "what" and absolutely loved to hate one of the characters. The end had a nice twist....makes you question your own judgment. It's a good listen.

Put them together and you have the funniest, most heartfelt, and most inspirational memoir on survival, success, and the importance of believing in yourself since Old Yeller.

If you could sum up I Can't Make This Up in three words, what would they be?

Never Stop Dreaming! Kevin had a long, hard road to make it where he is today. All through the negativity of girlfriends and producers telling him to "go get another job", Kevin remained steadfast and true to himself.

Which character – as performed by Kevin Hart – was your favorite?

Kevin Hart...as he read his own role, you could feel the passion in his voice. In the audible version, he added comments to make you feel he was directly speaking to you, the audience. I did NOT want to quit listening! It's an addiction.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

He spoke of his Mom and her Christianity AND how he didn't realize it "then" but her discipline moved him to be what he is today.

Any additional comments?

This book, although bad language can be a barrier for some, it walks you through some of the toughest scenarios one might face in life. It definitely gives you a new outlook on how to stay on course and listen to your inner being.

The Good House tells the story of Hildy Good, who lives in a small town on Boston's North Shore. Hildy is a successful real-estate broker, good neighbor, mother, and grandmother. She's also a raging alcoholic. Hildy's family held an intervention for her about a year before this story takes place - "if they invite you over for dinner, and it’s not a major holiday," she advises "run for your life" - and now she feels lonely and unjustly persecuted. She has also fooled herself into thinking that moderation is the key.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Several times I was hoping the plot would thicken....to no avail.

Would you recommend The Good House to your friends? Why or why not?

That's a catch 22. The narrator was "really good". (no pun intended) but often I wanted more of a surprise...

Which scene was your favorite?

. The book DOES have great/wonderful descriptions of people, places and things. I don't have a favorite scene...there are many places the author would take you and it felt as if you were actually there.

Do you think The Good House needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Oh no!
